UConn James
This is why English majors take the stairs. But seriously, that is just incredibly horrible and sad. Lawsuits ordinarily don't begin to make up for the damage caused, but this situation is utterly more-so. DrDawkinstein
Ugh, what a nightmare. For her, her family, and the people that were IN THE ELEVATOR. On a brighter note, that story lead me to this adorable infestation... http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/baby-seal-sneaks-woman-home-cat-door-curls-couch-a-nap-article-1.991767
Buftex
My girlfriend avoids elevators as much as possible, because she saw the aftermath of something similar to this, about 25 years ago... One of the more impactful "Six Feet Under" opening scenes...not for the easily squeemish:
BuffaloBud
Happened not too long ago at an Ohio State dorm. Family settled out of court. Linky
KD in CA
My office is 1/2 block from there -- in fact most days I stop in that building for breakfast on my way by. Madison Ave between 40th and 41th was packed with police, fire trucks and ambulances all day and into the evening. Apparently it took them several hours to extract her body from the elevator. Pretty gruesome way to go. RIP.
