I'm currently waterboarding a homeless person in our spare room while they get vocational training, get a job, and start earning money. What have you accomplished recently? fixed it. B-Man
No, who the !@#$ quotes him in this day and age? What are you, 120 years old? “I am free of all prejudice. I hate everyone equally. ” ― W.C. Fields “I never hold a grudge. As soon as I get even with the son-of-a B word, I forget it.” ― W.C. Fields “Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer.” ― W.C. Fields “Fell in love with a beautiful blonde once. Drove me to drink. And I never had the decency to thank her. ” ― W.C. Fields Those unaquainted with Mr. Fields ( no matter what your age) would do well to read about him. He is certainly more talented (dead) than most any comedian alive today . TPS
How about "You !@#$s want to talk about bankruptcy? You !@#$s are $14 trillion in debt. Let's talk about that pending bankruptcy..." Of course, that's partially his fault too... What exactly did Corzine due to drive MF Global into bankruptcy? Did he actually institute the "Buy all the European debt we can get" policy? If you're implying the US government, sorry, but they can't go bankrupt. Bankrupt implies an inability to pay; the government always has the ability to pay its debt in its own currency. meazza
Win for Soros? The 81-year old investor, together with his investment team at Soros Fund Management, purchased the bonds for below the market price at the time, in a transaction involving JP Morgan Chase & Co., according to these people. Other large investors also bought some of these European bonds once held by MF Global, according to people close to the matter. A spokeswoman for J.P. Morgan declined to comment. Mr. Soros's firm still holds the majority of the positions it acquired, the people said. Soros Fund Management, which manages about $26 billion for Mr. Soros, his family and his charities, may have profited during the subsequent five weeks, these people say, as the market recently has improved for Italian and other European debt. Distressed debt. Never fails.
Keukasmallies
Why wouldn't Corzine deflect blame? He is merely following the lead of Eric Holder, Barack Obama, Hil'ry Clinton, et. al. The idea that the boss assumes responsibility for the organization died long ago; with the possible exception of the military--but even there it only applies to those at the grunt level, the top of the ranks have learned to deflect with the best of them. So, Corzine is merely carrying out a long tradition of deceit.
