Oxrock
WAPO - Three Pinocchios What would we do without Fact Checkers eh? The president does not need to lard his case with such suspect data. There are few independent tax analysts who have much good to say about the Bush tax cuts. But it is difficult for Obama to justify blaming those tax cuts for being mostly responsible for today’s slow job growth, especially when he wants to retain a good chunk of those tax cuts.To bolster his case about unfairness, the president is also relying on a suspect statistic about billionaires paying as little as 1 percent in taxes. Even if true, it is a clearly a rare event. Moreover, it is certainly surprising that the White House would rely on such a dubious, unverified source for a major presidential address. Not surprised. IDBillzFan
One reason so few people take this man and his team seriously is because in spite of his alleged intelligence, he's stupid enough to think he can get away with spending one moment bragging how he reduced taxes more than anyone ever has (in part by extending the Bush tax cuts), and then spend the next moment explaining how those the Bush tax cuts are the very reason for slow job growth. Such an ass. Edited December 8, 2011 by LABillzFan
unbillievable
It doesn't matter how many times the man is proven a liar, there will still be a lot of people who will take his word for it and "Occupy" a few cities to spread the gospel. The bottom line is that he is promising a lot of "free" stuff while able to point out the villians who are preventing him from handing it out to the public.
