Those jerkwads need term limits. No one should have a lifetime job in Congress like Frank, Kennedy, Byrd, Thurmond, Pelosi, etc.

 

There is a real problem when Public Service/ Public Representation becomes a long term, super lucarative endeavor, not to mention career.

 

Does it strike you as strange that a billion dollars will be spent for a man to keep a job that pays 400K?

 

After 30 years in congress, you can't have any new ideas, and my bet is that it has been so cushy and comfy that expansion of government can be the only thought.

Then, who becomes chairmen of committees? The whole thing is based on seniority. Not saying I disagree with you, but, we'd need a plan to deal with the consequences.

 

Somehow I doubt the quality of legislation would suffer if someone were appointed to be Chair based on 8-10 years in Congress rather than 20-30.
