st. pete gogolak Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 You are allegedly running a 3-4 defense your two starting outside linebackers are Spencer Johnson and Chris Kelsay? Really? REALLY??????? Either go to a 4-3 and put Kelsay back at DE where he can at least be mediocre or take the two best OLB's on the other 31 teams' practice squads, sign them and start them.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Kelsay is our best OLB on the team. It is what it is. We need to draft OlB`s and W.R.s with every pick in the next draft.
KOKBILLS Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 If Spencer Johnson is an OLB I'm King of the freaking world...
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 No wonder all it takes is a simple reverse or run to the outside to net 20 yards a pop. Jets game plan should have been: reverse right reverse left reverse right reverse left (repeat as needed)
boyst Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Kelsay is not as bad as people think. He makes a difference on our team, we would be worse off without him. I am not saying we do not need to improve here but lets look at our line first and then our CB's.
Dr. Trooth Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I don't know why everyone keeps insisting the Bills run a 3-4 or a 4-3. They run a 5-2. Just as you mention, two career long defensive linemen play outside and folks call them LBs because they play out there. But I'll tell you what. If there's a single offensive coach in this league that would rather not see those two in coverage against their offense I'll buy you dinner.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 No wonder all it takes is a simple reverse or run to the outside to net 20 yards a pop. Jets game plan should have been: reverse right reverse left reverse right reverse left (repeat as needed) Like I`ve said before. Run at Johnson all day long. Slow and always crashing inside. NO CONTAIN to the outside. Kelsay is a million times better. They started switching him to Johnsons side on the wider field in the second half. Moats was even in there. Johnson is a De and that is it.
st. pete gogolak Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 I don't mean to dump on Kelsay with this thread. He's not the biggest problem. Far from it. But there is a difference between a 4-3 DE and a 3-4 OLB. I'd rather see a 4-3 the last five weeks with Carrington - Heard (or Troup) - Dareus - Kelsey backed up by Barnett - Sheppard - waiver wire pick-up.
