MacAddict104 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 (edited) Relax everyone. Yeah I know this team sucks but we are almost there as a lot of optimistic posters have said we are "almost there." Here's what we need: - 1 new DE - 1 new DT - a big play wide receiver - 1 possession receiver - 1 new tackle - 1 new guard - 2 new cornerbacks - 2 new linebackers - 1 kickoff specialist - 1 Safety and don't forget: - a new GM - a new defensive coordinator - oh and maybe a new coach - PLUS it might not be bad to have a quarterback that actually has armstrength. So let's add "1 new QB" to the list. See so when you put things into perspective, we aren't so far off after all. Things are finally starting to "look up," in Buffalo. And maybe -- just maybe, the Bills are NOT the most disappointing, most pathetic, losing franchise that a lot of people seem to profess them to be. Or....maybe WE'RE SCREWED FOR YEARS TO COME! I think the latter Edited November 27, 2011 by MacAddict104
miserable_fan Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 we have kyle williams and marcel dareus... but we need another DT? lol. i think we're fine at guard and safety, too. granted, we still have tons of gaping holes

I think the latter I guess you're not a "Bill-iever" then? Good for you....I like posts that call it like it is. Only thing missing from your list is QB...sorry, Fitz has good games but also bad games and weird decision-making at times. He's not a long term solution.
MacAddict104 Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 Over dramatic much? It wasn't meant to be taken literally - it was a shot at the fans in this forum who blindly think that things over at One Bills Drive are good. Make no mistake about it - this is an untalented team who need a LOT of help in MANY areas. I am sick of people saying things like "oh we're just one player away." We need a LOT of help to be competitive and until Wilson brings in real people to run this team, make no mistake about it, it will not happen we have kyle williams and marcel dareus... but we need another DT? lol. i think we're fine at guard and safety, too. granted, we still have tons of gaping holes Kyle Williams is solid.....but we could definitely use another DE to get pressure on the QB. I have hope that Dareus will be good someday but how many times has he been invisible this year. I am not sold on Craig Urbik or Chad Rinehardt at guard. We need an upgrade. Did you see how many holes they opened up the middle? Me either.... I love George Wilson as a team leader but he has been out of place many times this year in pass coverage against the Tight Ends. We need to upgrade there as well.
Fixxxer Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 We need a new defensive coordinator. Edwards does not have a clue how to dial up pressure by blitz and he doesn't know the tendencies of the offense he is facing. Times and times again we get fooled and look stupid by misdirection.

I think the latter So a team that will probably finish 8-8 adn with massive injuries has a lot of holes . I would argue that with decent health and a legit olb pass rush they would be a playoff team this year. You guys who constantly say there are so many holes on the team, do not look at teh big picture. Every team has areas of weakness . You do not see the 85 bears or 86 giants anymore. look at some of the playoff teams Pats they have zero at speed on the outside, no pass rush and weak play from their corners saints Front 7 on d is a mess cowboys Oline and d backfield Ravens Questionbale Qb, o line, wide reciever corner ect ect ect get a clue Edited November 27, 2011 by jcbillsfan
bills1960 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 would this thread exist is steve johnson caught that ball? hell no
Gareson Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 would this thread exist is steve johnson caught that ball? hell no Probaby not. There are enough "Bill-iever" idiots who would have believed that a narrow victory over a mediocre team like the Jets would mean that the Bills' roster is solid...which, as the OP correctly points out, it is not.

As far as finishing 8-8. do you think we will win 3 of the next 5 games? I think we will win one and finish 6-10.
Mr_Blizzard Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 O.P. - you're preachin' to the choir. As far as line help, if we had a Jeff Wright type of guy on the bench, it would help. Capable back-up who can come in and make a big play on passing downs. Another quality corner would be nice. We need more depth and a few more starters who are impact guys. This "D" looked solid prior to the injury bug hitting; but still not an upper echelon defense. Once injuries took out some key players, we are back to a bottom 25% "D".

If were lucky we win 2.
MacAddict104 Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 How am trolling? I'm bringing up a fairly good argument that talent-wise, this team is very average. Yes all teams have holes but teams with good players -- All Pro players can compensate and find ways to win. Buffalo does not have these players on their roster. We can blame George Edwards all you want -- I agree he's a bad coach who should be fired -- but you can't argue that our front office has done a solid job of finding talent in the draft and otherwise. Based on the huge amount of yards they gave up, I was always concerned about our defense. All teams encounter injuries -- it's part of the game. Good coaches and players make adjustments and find ways to be successful. Look at the injuries in offense to Green Bay! My point is, we don't have these players and Buddy Nix needs to be held accountable

BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 No way we can build with just the draft alone and all it's hits and misses. we need aggresive free agency to get a top notch receiver, a true OLB, a DE that can rush the passer, OL help, especially as a backup C. We need to get true starters in free aganecy and a new coordianotor on defense that can thake this teams strengths and figure a system it can utikize. No more troups or MccRagos and try and make them something they never were in college, ie good players against good competetion.

THOSE players rarely make it to free agency , you usually are buying older players or problem players.
