Oh no, we're DOOMED. If our assistants can't take snaps without fumbling, how can we expect the players too?????

I hope he is better in the shotgun

jcbillsfan Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Wood has missed a ton of games so far in his short career . Thinking they migth want to take a shot at a center in the later round of the draft.

apuszczalowski Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 if you don't get the irony on this, then you don't deserve any turkey. Don't get Turkey today anyways, had mine in October Can't agree more. We need a back up center who can also play guard, not the other way around. Why should that matter, The problem was Levitre ia a guard who hasn't played C. If they can get a really good guard with experience playing C, it doesn't matter
John from Riverside Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Don't get Turkey today anyways, had mine in October Why should that matter, The problem was Levitre ia a guard who hasn't played C. If they can get a really good guard with experience playing C, it doesn't matter Actually....in my opinion it does matter......if you want to be solid at the center position they need to have solid experience making line calls it isnt JUST about being able to snap the ball without fumbling or not shooting a shotgun snap over the QB's head. If you have a solid center who can also play guard.....well then you have something. And they ARE out their this coaching staff needs to do a better job. We watched Hangarter get manhandled consistantly that is why some are a little apprehensive of bringing in a guy like that....but you have these guys like Shawn Ohara that are vet guys that play center first then can play guard.....there was a guy like this (I think he was from Dallas?) that was released and we didn't bring him in....we should have.
frostbitmic Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 How OBD could go into the season with only one guy who has ever snapped the ball in a game is beyond me. Pure incompetence on the part of Nix. But when you're as close to the salary cap as we were ..... oh wait
Chris in Syracuse Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Wood has missed a ton of games so far in his short career . Thinking they migth want to take a shot at a center in the later round of the draft. I am thinking early rounds. Maybe 3 or 4. Wood has proven he cannot be trusted. I would seriously start looking for a replacement and trade him for some value. He is a good player but just can't stay on the field. He is no good to us on IR.
Sisyphean Bills Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Look for the answer in Brown, Colin.

My point is just that for a backup, what you want is a guy that can and has played the position. Weither he is a guard first or a C first, that shouldn't matter, as long as he can and has played C before. The problem know is that teh Bills don't have anyone with more then a game or 2 experience playing C currently on the active roster

If our assistants can't take snaps without fumbling, how can we expect the players too????? I think the loss margin in the last 3 games indicate our doomed status. But we couldn't go out and sign an experienced free agent, that would be fool Hardy

What I have been saying is you can't have one quality player per position except possibly kickers. Depth needs to be more of a 'boy we have two or three great players so who do we start and who fills in' situation. Not oh 'we got one of them, we don't need two' mindset! That is where Wilson seems to want us to stay with his 33 mil under cap crap.

I guess the long snapper wasn't an option?
RuntheDamnBall Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I don't know how you don't have a backup center on an NFL team. I guess the long snapper wasn't an option? Do you really want to see a guy who is smaller than most NFL fullbacks take on an NFL defensive tackle every snap?
