BiggieScooby Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Ryan Fitzpatrick is starting to throw picks in mass amounts. His body language and post game pressers are emblematic of a guy whose confidence in himself or system is wavering. If you are Chan Gailey do you recognize this and try and run the ball more, change up the offense and run a more conventional offense, or do we continue the path we're on? Looking at our remaining schedule if we can limit turnovers, control the ball and hence the clock, we have a good shot at beating everyone but New England. Without a change in strategy and continued poor results this will be more an indictment of Gailey being stubborn, than being pragmatic. Edited November 18, 2011 by BiggieScooby
reddogblitz Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Play Dick ball? Maybe we can steal it at the end? No way. Fitz is not the problem. And of the those 3 picks last Sunday, one bounced off of Donald Jones' hands and the other 2 were desperation/garbage time picks. I watched all the offensive plays from the Jets game the other night and we were moving the ball. In fact we out gained the Jets. But too many times when the play was there it wasn't made. Fred's fumble. Dropped passes. Wide open recievers not hit. In the cowboys game add another Fred fumble, more dropped passes, a sure pick dropped, and the spiller bomb fiasco. Coach Gailey is right, it's execution. Stop screwing up and we'll be OK on offense anyway. Even if our defense lets us down against the Fish, our offense should be able to outscore them regardless.
Chandemonium Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Even great qb's have slumps. Last year Peyton manning had a stretch where he threw 11 picks in 3 games. Fitz will be fine.
MDH Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 The Problem Fitz had last week was that his defense allowed a million first half points and the Bills got way behind and went into "must throw" mode. When D's know you're going to throw they can be much more aggressive in coverage and in the pass rush. Dallas has a fantastic pass rush, getting way behind a team like that is bound to be a nightmare. I'm not excusing Fitz from his mistakes but this D could make things a lot easier on everybody if they'd force a punt every now and then.
EldaBillsFan Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 The spread offense works.....just have to stay committed to running the ball
pBills Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I do believe they need to run the ball a bit more. Last game even though Fast Freddie had over 100 yards rushing he only ran it 13 times. Except for one game, the games where he touches the ball over 20 times they win.
truth on hold Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Let Brad Smith do his best Tim Tebow impersonation
bobinaz Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Use the bunch formation with the WRs on the line, more playaction and let Fitz roll out of the pocket more often.
