New research that suggests Jupiter's moon Europa has a body of water the size of the Great Lakes just two miles below its icy surface has brought scientists one step closer to determining whether or not the freezing satellite is suitable for the development of extraterrestrial life.

When can we go?

Weird. It's like Arthur C. Clarke was psychic or something...

It's uncanny how prescient some science fiction writers were. H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, etc. Weird indeed.

Clarke managed to write a lot of things that ultimately came to pass. Communication satellites spring most immediately to mind - as I recall, his description of a fictional communication satellite so accurately described the first real one (Echo 1) that he could have all but designed it.

Maybe he was actually an alien.

The better question is, how long until we can start mining the **** out of Europa? EARTH FIRST!!

It's only a matter of time. Gotta bring down the coast of launching/landing payloads. When is that giant space elevator going to be built?
