Captain Hindsight Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Agree and disagree. He formed an offense that can win... but he called out Tebow and said he cant win as a passer. I'm not a fan of that
benderbender Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 What Denver has shown this year is that a determined team can win against adversity with a leader. I hope we can do the same for a playoff push
reddogblitz Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I wanted the Bills to hire John Fox 2 years ago if he got fired that year. I think it's great that he knows what Tebow Mania's weakness is and doesn't expose it. I like that he didn't say "this is my system and I run it no matter what" and try to make Tebow Mania pass 35 times a game. A coach that molds his schemes to the players he has. Novel concept. That said, I think Coach Gailey does this too.
truth on hold Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 That's what good coaches do I think successful coaches are a blend of adherence to a system, but can also adapt to the personnel they have, and balance winning near term versus investing until the mythical perfect system with perfect players is achieved. My concern with Chan is that he's far too system oriented
Simon Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 My concern with Chan is that he's far too system oriented That's as patently wrong and foolish the 10th time you've said it as it was the first.
Acantha Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Agree and disagree. He formed an offense that can win... but he called out Tebow and said he cant win as a passer. I'm not a fan of that His press release sounded like a pouting child.
BiggieScooby Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Fox is protecting tebow and also covering himself if the experiment blows up
todd Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Agree and disagree. He formed an offense that can win... but he called out Tebow and said he cant win as a passer. I'm not a fan of that He's right, though. Tebow isn't a QB. He's something else. Smart coaches use their players abilities, and avoid their liabilities. Tebow's liability is that he's not a QB. The guy can't pass. He sucks at passing. He's NOT a QB. He runs a fantastic option, though.
