I'm not what you'd call a huge Fitz fan, but the truth is he played fine for 3 quarters while getting the snot absolutely kicked out of him. Toward the end of the game where you're taking chances (still under duress), what do you expect?

I think his protection was poor today, and his receivers are substandard.

All the low IQ fans are always going to blame the QB for any loss, but its a team game and the team allowed those 44 points, not the QB

Fans just don't get that this FO has basically ignored the O line in the last 2 years of drafts, and tried in vain to build a decent defense.

Hows that Spiller pick looking now? WTH, any freaking O linemen that the 49ers drafted that same year would be an improvement over a RB that can't catch, can't block, can't find a freaking hole

NFN, but what did you think would happen when an offense only does one thing well in the passing game. Those short quick out passes are going to get disrupted by teams with good defenses, that crappy O line doesn't allow the QB more then 3 seconds to throw so the QB has no chance to throw 5-7 step drop back, deep passes. I shudder to think what any other QB would look like behind that line.

Don't be hiding now. I've been saying that he's not our franchise QB and NEVER WAS. I feel sorry for the people in this forum that actually thought he was good enough to carry this franchise. Way to earn that contract Fitz !!!

So we give Fitz, a career backup QB the big contract but we're going to let a guy like Stevie Johnson walk?

F U Bills front office. F. U.

You havent posted since Sept 13th. Now that they lose 2 in a row you come around....

Go crawl back in your hole, troll.

Nice signature too. Yeah, you were totally correct about Newton not making it in the NFL.

Just STFU and leave.

yes the defense played bad... but you cant win if you only score 7 points. Fitz shoulders a lot of that blame as a QB, and he played terrible. Overthrowing receivers, and general inaccuracy in the passing game caused the offense to look so stale. He wasnt even hitting his slants in stride, he was bad this game from start to finish.

Thing is, the traits are not new to Fitz. The defense gave up a ton of points yesterday too. But that doesnt explain his overall poor play the past weeks. Like i said earlier, after the first few games he is simply showing what he really is, an average QB.

You don't think they had to change up the gameplan when it was 21-0? Or perhaps being down by three TDs midway through the first half puts greater, undue pressure on the offensive players to produce? They could have scored more than 7 points, but when you have to go for it on 4th down rather than kick a FG, that's what happens. If they scored a TD on the last play of the game and the score was 44-14, would that have made you feel better? And that's not even mentioning the drops by Jones and Spiller...

EVERY qb looks average with no protection and mediocre receivers. We made a couple of very good QBs look horrible this year. It happens.

ONE GAME does not define a player or career.

The Bills have shown they can run with good teams. Fitz has shown he can lead the offense. They've just had a bad couple of weeks. It happens to almost every team.

Move on.

Its not one game, its a pattern.

He's got the 2nd most INTs in the league right now. They are 2-4 in their last 6 games. Its not about just Dallas. Its not all Fitz's fault either.

In that timespan he's thrown 7 TDs and 9 INTs. He has also missed wide open guys, like Jones yesterday. Yea WRs have dropped some too.

But you are willfully ignoring the fact Fitz is also a major reason for their recent sucking. After a hot 3 game start his last 6 games have shown what he really is.

haha. this is probably the worst post of the day. Let's take a quick look at how Dallas jumped out to a ligting fast 14-0 lead and then see how much of that had to do with Fitz. Don't worry, this won't take but a minute. Dallas receives the ball and marches down the field like a well oiled machine and passes all over the hopeless Bills. Fitz watches the game from the sidelines. So that must have been all Fitz's fault right? Okay, Bills get the ball and decide not to block or even attempt to block one of the best pass rushers in the game and Ware sacks fit'z for a huge loss and the drive never has a chance. Fitz should have stoned walled Ware and thrown an 80 yard td pass to johnson. Again, Fitz's fault for sure. Bills give the ball back to Dallas and again they make Buffalo look silly and score easily. Fitz's fault again right?

14-0 before the Bills even knew what hit them. Piss poor coaching and a Defense that looks like a bottom feeder. Pathetic!

Why does everyone look for excuses for Fitz and blame other areas of the roster? Sure he doesn't play defense, but he is a big part of the reason why they are always on the field. Does it matter how many points the defense gives up, when the offense only scores 7 points, who in the hell are you going to beat with only 7 points. Lately Fitz gives as many points to the opponents with turnovers (ints and fumbles), then he leads the offense to himself. I like Fitz, and his story is a good one, but realistically he is nowhere an elite QB, not even a top level starter, and is more suited to be a really good backup. Bottom line is, this team is bad all around, but nobody wants to hear that. What was Fitz excuse against the Redskins with his fumble that just fell out of his hand, and the terrible throw on an interception-you can't blame the defense for that, they shut the Skins out and had 10 sacks. Was it the defenses fault against the Giants when we were in the Red Zone and about to take the lead when Fitz threw just a terribly short pass that got picked off and cost the Bills the game? I don't know why all the excuses, unless they are afraid all the "Fear the Beard" shirts will end up in the same box in the closet with the "Van Pelt Pelts", the Rob Johnson jerseys, Mike Williams pictures, Losman bobbleheads and Dick Jauron posters.

Im not ignoring anything. Fitz hasnt played well. Neither have most of the other 52 players, and the coaches. Everyone has basically sucked the last 2 weeks. It doesnt mean they all suck all the time. It means they've had a rough couple of games.

There are still improvements to be made. I dont think that is any surprise. If anyone thought we were "all set" the year after going 4-12 then Im not sure they should be watching football.

I'm merely saying that you cant just look at specific weeks. You have to look at the season as a whole. We're 5-4. We started on a hot streak, now we're in a bit of a slump. Ups and downs, they happen.

Saying "Fitz sucks, he's a below average QB" is just as ridiculous as those that were saying "SUPER BOWL!" a few weeks ago. Just relax and let it play out.

That took the lead for the "understatement of the season" so far.

So what generally happens when the opposing team gets a 21 point lead early in the game? (the Colts thrived on this thru Manning's entire career) The defense pins their proverbial ears back and comes after the QB, and as usual when the team is trying to play catch up the OC-HC just resort to throw, throw, throw!

Doesn't it bother anyone else that Fred Jackson got 114 yards on only 13 carries...8.76 YPC and Gailey keeps throwing against a team that is coming after the QB every play!!!

Sorry guys, but Gailey was a doo doo head least week, and he duplicated it again this week

Fitz is fine for now. Did you only watch the game when the Bills had the ball and missed the putrid defense today???

Oh, and I'm not a Fitz apologist, he is what he is but I'm okay with him for now.

Shame Easley went down, he catches half the balls Jones is too short to catch. I wonder if his career is over? No info at all out of that situation. He would have been a good one me thinks. Oh well.

Since signing his new deal, Fitzpatrick is 0-2 and has thrown 2 TD passes to 5 INTS. The Bills made a blunder with that move.

We win Sunday and all is forgiven. Great to be a fan.

The posters on this board need to wise up. This guy is obviously a troll and isn't very knowledgeable about football (he's president of the Cam Newton is going to suck club lol). There's a lot of fans on this board that are weather vane's - they talk playoffs after every win, and after every loss they don't think the Bills will win a game for the rest of the season. Please step away from the Reply key and let the less knowledgeable rant on.

he got 8.7 ypc because Boys were up all game and didnt need to stop the run. They were in a prevent style defense, so yea freddy got yards, but they werent exactly trying to stop him.

The D didnt pin their ears back, they were getting pressure rushing 4 guys even when not blitzing. It still doesnt explain how bad the offense has been the last 6 games.

Yeah, you can see it....ever since he signed that big contract, all Fitz does is drop back and throw the ball into the ground...he probably figures "hey, I got my money, fug this....I hope they bench me, and the knowledgable Bills fans get out the tar and feathers...that way, I cash my checks, and don't have to do nothin'...thank you Harvard!"

I am not sure what is more depressing, the PPP forum, or coming to the football forum after a loss.

Dude cmon, your RB is getting 8.7 YPC and you still throw it?

All the bills needed to do was run the ball more, move the chains, make first downs and keep the ball out of Romo- Fitz hands. Could have been a completely different game.

BTW, I didn't say they were blitzing. I stated they were pinning their ears back and coming after the QB, and they were. That is the reason for Jackson's unreal YPC avg. The HC-OC were foolish for not taking advantage it

He's actually 1-2 but your larger point still remains. He's struggling to say the least.

GO BILLS!!!
