watch your mouth you cad...you scoundrel...... :w00t:

Yeah... But wouldn't some wise acre kid ask: "what did she do?" You know, connect the dots judging from other famous people that read to them and who they recognized. Fine and dandy if they didn't think celebrities were innvolved... Why not just have the teacher read? "Who is she" has to come to mind with the children? No? Why are they picking her to read? Can't be becasue she is a "role model?"

Many think that the porn industry, legal or not, is a very harming and dehumanizing industry.

If one of the kids asks "what do you do?". The answer could be as simple as I work in the movies.

I understand your final point but still very different than PSU. She made a decision as an adult to participate in it. She was not forced to do so by a sick and twisted man.

I dont get why people even think Sasha Gray is attractive at all....shes got a weird, long jaw line that makes her face look alien-ish, she has small/average breasts and always rocks a HUGEEEEE bush....nothing attractive about that whatsoever....and its probably like throwing a hot dog down a hallway

I guess the logic here why they have her reading is that she became a mainstream actor after her stardom in porn???

I suppose so .. yes but it is also likely the teacher was not aware of her history. Even if the teacher did know, this was ana adult reading a story to little children and that was it. It did not appear to be anything more.

She has no right to be discriminated against because of her past.

Discriminate is perhaps the wrong word. She certainly has to be accountable for her past. I still stand on the fact that what she did was a choice (or perhaps a series of choices). Understandably, many in society view it as a very poor choice. She will be forever subject to the differences in opinion this fact creates.

What you said there is exactly what makes this topic interesting. Being in porn is not illegal (to my knowledge, anyway), so what should make her more accountable than anyone else? What if Halle Berry were the one reading to the kids and some of the kids mothers happened to see Billy Bob bend her over and bang the hell out of her in Monster's Ball? Sure, it wasn't actual penetration, but that was quite the scene! Why should Sasha be more scrutinized than Halle?

I did not suggest that she is any more or less accountable than any of the rest of us. I went on to say porn can be one of those lightening rod topics that will cause others to look at her choice to participate more harshly. She does not have to answer to them but she does have to know that they will be a vocal group calling her past into question.

Oh I know, I wasn't being critical of what you said, I was just pointing out that you hit the nail on the head in terms of why this conversations is so interesting. I think a lot of people probably DO equate being in porn with some sort of criminal behavior. And obviously it's a big issue or that article wouldn't have been written to begin with. I think it's interesting to see how people are reacting to the topic, cause certainly the porn industry comes with a huge stigma in our society....particularly when children are in the equation.

What is equally interesting to me is that there are very significant grey areas to question. You brought up a good point earlier in that mainstream actors may produce work that is highly borderline porn. It's all a matter of perspective and definition. EII also brought up a good point earlier when he said there is reason to call into question the "dehumanizing" of women in some forms of porn. Additionally, it is known that some (women especially) get into the field out of desperation and may even be forced to participate.

All of these factors make the issue far less than a simple one. However, at the end of the day if she was a consenting adult participating in the filming of a sex act with another consenting adult my reaction is more power to her. She made her choices and will have to live with the impact (good and bad) that have resulted.

That's exactly how I feel. I am fully supportive of adults being adults, whether it's behavior I agree with or would partake in myself or not. And you're right, there are many perspectives on this and it's very interesting to hear what others say.
