I have no problem with this.

Me neither.

Last I knew, there was nothing illegal about having been in porn in a prior life.

I guess there is fear that she mght suddenly feel the urge to get back into it while reading to children ...

I can understand that fear, I just think it's much ado about nothing. Hell, they let politicans address children all the time, and they have a long history of screwing US, so why not let someone read to them who has primarly been used to getting screwed by others?

Of course, I'm also the sort of person who will see these young female teachers banging a high school student and then wondering where thewe teachers were when I was in H.S.

Not trying to be a downer and piss on everybody's parade... I can care less, I have no problem with her reading to children... Yet, the way this conversation has turned... Is it a bit wrong? No? In light of what is happening with the PSU thing, it just goes to show you how screwy WE (yes, you ME, and everybody else) are as a culture. Sure it is apples and oranges between the two cases. I was just commenting on the way the conversation is leaning. For crying our loud, haven't we learned anything from some of our closest friends and posters on this board? :wallbash:

I think the fear is that is sets a bad example if people were to find out. Sure what she was doing is perfectly legal. Children may blur the lines and see hypocrisy.

Again, sorry to get on the pulpit and preach.

Isn't the point that the kids have no way to know about her history until the adults overreact? I see this situation being nothing like PSU. They are not apples and oranges. In this situation a woman who engaged in perfectly legal activity in her past read a story to school kids. Understood that many have morality questions about what she did in her past. However, nobody was harmed by her actions and we are all free to ignore her work product.

Yeah... But wouldn't some wise acre kid ask: "what did she do?" You know, connect the dots judging from other famous people that read to them and who they recognized. Fine and dandy if they didn't think celebrities were innvolved... Why not just have the teacher read? "Who is she" has to come to mind with the children? No? Why are they picking her to read? Can't be becasue she is a "role model?"

Many think that the porn industry, legal or not, is a very harming and dehumanizing industry.
