Ramius Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Golisano was great for what the team needed at the time...someone to stabilize the operation and bring the team back to respectability. Golisano was also going to make sure the team was playoff-caliber every single season so he'd make his money. However, he was not willing to do what it takes to win a Cup, something Pegula is. Golisano was going to hope we caught fire in the post season, but he wasn't going to make the moves necessary to add a piece to put us on top, or to keep the team together. I'm thankful for what Golisano did at the time he did it. I'm more thankful that Pegula stepped in when he did. The Sabres were definitely starting to stagnate under Golisano/Quinn. Don't underestimate the amount of damage Quinn did. Kicking his ass to the curb still remains the best move T-Pegs has made.
r00tabaga Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I like Tom and am very thankful for what he did for Western NY (Sabres & Paychex)! He just wasn't a hockey guy.
