PromoTheRobot Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 This sucks but I think Dareus can fill that role, and the youngsters have to step up outside. PTR
26CornerBlitz Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Not as bad as you state it. If Hairston comes back and plays out the season, I dont think we will miss Bell much. Merriman wasn't contributing much anyway so no great loss Kyle will always be missed. We didn't see the real KW this season...hopefully he comes back 100% in 2012....He and Dareus should be hell for opposing offenses!!!
Coach Tuesday Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) Not as bad as you state it. If Hairston comes back and plays out the season, I dont think we will miss Bell much. Merriman wasn't contributing much anyway so no great loss Kyle will always be missed. Plus Kelsay, who was our best pass rusher. If you were told before the season started that the Bills would lose 3 players from their Front 7 and their starting Left Tackle for most of the season, would you think highly of the team's chances? I know they've overachieved thus far, but they may not have the depth to recover from these losses, IMO. Edited November 8, 2011 by Coach Tuesday
buffalo1983 Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 This sucks but it puts another young player in their to battle and to get some experience. Hopefully Williams comes back next season healthy and we will have some experienced young players to back him up.
papazoid Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 just got the bills text.....kyle williams put on I.R. done for the season.
Jeremy Jacobs Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Could Dareus make Kyle trade bait this offseason? jus sayin'
26CornerBlitz Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Could Dareus make Kyle trade bait this offseason? jus sayin' I would definitely not do that....Good to great DLinemen are hard to come by.
Jeremy Jacobs Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I would definitely not do that....Good to great DLinemen are hard to come by. What if it nets you a 1st & 3rd or 4th?
26CornerBlitz Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 What if it nets you a 1st & 3rd or 4th? KW is only 28 y/o....I'd keep him as he should just be entering his prime.
KOKBILLS Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Perfect... More money well spent... Can you even believe it? Sucks...
cantankerous Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 It sucks that they knew about it in August but had him try to play through it, instead of doing something about it then. (Surgery, etc) You will be missed Kyle.
JerryG83 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Knew it was coming. Get well Kyle. They will have to decide what to do next year if Dareus keeps being a force inside. Go Bills!!!
Dont Stop BILL-ievin' Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Time for our second round draft pick from last year to step up....but he has been about as productive as our first rounder. Any vets our there we can bring in for the remainder of the year?
Bufcomments Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Sucks big time. If we make the playoffs without Williams THAT would say alot. Am comfy with Marcel in the middle. Even though Mangold schooled him on Sunday a bit.
HurlyBurly51 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Sucks. Waiting for the D. Bell shoe to drop now.
vincec Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 He is not on IR. I have not rec'd any texts from the Bills like I have Shawne Merriman or others. Waste of time here. Guess not.
snamsnoops Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 We knew we had depth issues all around going into this year. Hopefully we can fix this in the next off season. I know the bills turned some heads this year, but the S.B. was still far far away. A playoff birth would have been great and still could b possible, but let the youngsters play and gain experience. I hope to GOD they make a few moves more in the off season.
3rdand12 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 love the Kyle, he has been a reason to Billieve last year with his play. This is another fellow who has played as a professional and then some for us. The gentleman who has taunted with KW trade value,.. please do not ever talk about trading Kyle. N o matter how realistic it may be i dont like it one bit. thanks
John from Riverside Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I still say that the answer is to go back to the 4-3 after this season - Williams and Darius in the middle would be an absolute force and that is absolutely the hardest position to fill - Kelsay returns to his natural position of defensive end......Carrington is big for the spot but would still have a role.......Troupe would be a backup - We will still be left with the same situation as we are even with a healthy Wiliams....we need outside linebackers and corners....upgrade those positions and you have a force of a defense.
