stevestojan Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 http://www.cnn.com/2004/EDUCATION/12/22/co...s.ap/index.html I wonder if next week she will try to sue for her rights to chew tobacco in school.
Tux of Borg Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 The Sons of Confederate Veterans has promised to help pay some of her legal expenses. The sons of confederate veterans... is that a politically correct term for another group?
CJPearl2 Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Yeah, I think it is the long version of the K(sons) of K (Conferate) K (Veterans).
aussiew Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 And she looks so Irish - pale skin, red hair and freckles.
Beerball Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 "she was wearing a dress styled as a large Confederate battle flag" Emphasis on large. Do you mind if we dance wif your dates?
CajunBillsBacker Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 I'd say she would have a case if they didn't tell her before hand that she couldn't wear it, but that's where she went wrong. It's great that she's proud of where she came from, but it's a shame that where she came from, the flag offends some people. She just learned that the world just isn't fair, and she'll have to get over it. The dress looks great though, whoever made it did a good job.
TheMadCap Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 She thought she was supposed to go to the Lynryd Skynyrd concert, she just got lost...
Thailog80 Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Why not just wear a white sheet? Same thing essentially.
ROCCEO Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 seriously, tahts despicable. You can sit around all day and spit your "states rights" stevestojan about that flag, but the truth is it stands for nothing positive and certainly nothing that our country is now is supposed tos tand for. !@#$ that B word.

That flag has been around since 1861 and was first raised in Montgomery, AL. and was originally a sign for Southern Culture, nothing to do with hating people. The KKK are neo-Nazis, rednecks and bigots who have decimated the flag that represents Southern culture. These incompetents have hampered the true essence of the pride of Southern heritage that was in the confederate banner. Just some food for thought.

Guest w Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 Being a redneck can get you elected President too!
Simon Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 Being a redneck can get you elected President too! Don't even go there. That sniveling little puss wouldn't last 15 minutes in my redneck of the woods...
BB27 Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 This country was built on the right to free speech. If she wants to wear that dress let her! Clearly she was standing in front of a magic mirror when she thought it looked good. If you wear a dress that looks like a confederate flag, you might be a redneck.
Fezmid Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 She obviously needed the money to clone her pet: http://www.startribune.com/stories/1556/5151590.html CW

Fuggin rednecks... Some stereotypes have a pretty good backing behind them. A confederate flag for a dress? You lost the war - get over it.
