buffaloboyinATL Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 I was just chatting with a few of them and they said that they never liked his "pass happy" style, they said he tried to change their smash mouth attack and that they're happy he's gone. I knew they didn't like their offense last year, but I thought they liked him.

Mile High Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Good.. That's fine with me and I'm sure the majoity of the people on this board. Glad to have him as our head coach.
Alaska Darin Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Uh, because they're typical fans who feel much smarter when their team is 13-1? You know, kind of like Thurman's Helmet and Foxboro Mike...
stuckincincy Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 IIRC, last year the Steeler's OL was a shambles, and Bettis was gimpy. It is traditional to despise the staff under such conditions.
buffaloboyinATL Posted December 22, 2004 Author Posted December 22, 2004 Good.. That's fine with me and I'm sure the majoity of the people on this board. Glad to have him as our head coach. 173932 I agree, so far I love the guy. Seems like he tries to work with the personnel that he has available. Now Gilbride... he was pass happy.
BB27 Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 The fans....... Wasn't it Levy who said if a coach starts listening to the fans and what they think, they should be careful or they will end up sitting with them..... Oddly, the Steelers Organization was not thrilled that MM left. Just the fans....
Arkady Renko Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 I agree, so far I love the guy. Seems like he tries to work with the personnel that he has available. Now Gilbride... he was pass happy. 173938 Mr. Steeler Fan, I have seen pass-happy coaches. I know pass-happy coaches. Pass-happy coaches have run my team's offense. Mr. Steeler fan, Mularkey is no pass-happy coach.
Arkady Renko Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 sound and fury, signifying nothing. 173968 Sounds like my life, if you leave out the sound and fury part.
duey Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Yet, they have no problem with Cowart, a man who was blindly loyal to Kordell Stewart to the point that he almost lost his job.
kota Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 It's ok I like MM. Best coach the Bills have had since Marv.
Arkady Renko Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 It's ok I like MM. Best coach the Bills have had since Marv. 173988 At least since Wade Philips....
kota Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Wade Phillips? LOL he was a horrible coach. I lost all respect for him when he pulled that crap with RJ and Flutie against Tennisee.

crackur Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Wade Phillips? LOL he was a horrible coach. I lost all respect for him when he pulled that crap with RJ and Flutie against Tennisee. 174008 thats the truth

Arkady Renko Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Or you could put the blame where it belongs... 174025 In all seriousness, Wade Phillips probably has the worst respect to winning percentage ratio's of HC's in recent memory. I suppose as I have found often in my short life, presentation of results often matter more than the results themselves.
kota Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Or you could put the blame where it belongs... 174025 So it wasn't Wades decision to pull Flutie after RJ won a meaning less game in Indy? Who's was it?
