John from Riverside Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 In the back of everyones mind I think we knew this was about to happen..... - Shawn looked outstanding in pre season - When the regular season came....ghostown It is my opinion that Shawn has been hurt for longer then even we realize and not just the shoulder..... Nix did what he has been doing since he arrived.....when he feels a player is done....then they are gone and another player is given a chance.
TheBrownBear Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Dude sucks and won't be missed. I live in SD so I casually follow the Bolts as well, and everyone here knew he had nothing left. Never understood why we even wasted time and a roster spot on this scrub. We'd have been better off developing some UFA guy than wait around for Merriman. Best thing I can say about the guy is that at least he hasn't been a distraction here like he was in SD.
JCBoston Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Well he wasn't making an impact anyways. So lets dance with who brought us. This.
apuszczalowski Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Well he wasn't making an impact anyways. So lets dance with who brought us. How dare you, he was the Lee Evans of the defence, a high priced decoy who would command all of the offences attention letting everyone else go unnoticed!
PromoTheRobot Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I feel really bad for the guy and worse for this team. It leaves an enormous hole AFTER THE TRADE DEADLINE and getting rid of Maybin. At this point I don't think he will ever be anything more than an IR spot waiting to happen. Oh yeah, I'm reallllly missing Aaron Maybin. When did Maybin become the Pro Bowl starting LB? PTR

Best thing I can say about the guy is that at least he hasn't been a distraction here like he was in SD. Another telling clue I tried to mention was the fact that San Diego released him. QUESTION: What team dumps a SUPERSTAR that is recovering from a manageable injury who will likely return to something at least slightly resembling his former probowl form? ANSWER: Nobody! It was clear as day. Oh yeah, I'm reallllly missing Aaron Maybin. When did Maybin become the Pro Bowl starting LB? PTR Give it a rest Robo-tripper. You know nobody said Maybin was a probowler. All I will say is 3 sacks and 3 forced fumbles in how many games? Here is another interesting fact for you....Maybin and Merriman have the same number of probowls in the last 3 years
Doc Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 There goes any pass rush. And word is that Kyle Williams' season is over as well. So much for the defense.
buffalo1983 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 The question is... Did the Injury get worse and the Bills had no choice but to IR him or the Bills just didnt want to deal with him anymore and put him on IR? We all know he didn't do much on the field but off the field he was very vocal. If it wasn't for him Nick and a couple others wouldn't have came to Buffalo.. I just hope this wasn't done the wrong way. It went from Merriman saying he will probably play Sunday, to being put on IR. Say what you want about Merriman but he is very known around the NFL and word will spread fast about Buffalo (Like we really need that) if he had a chance to play and the Bills just said forget about him.
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I know I can be a real d*ck sometimes trying to drive a point home but I'm as disappointed and upset as everyone else. Part of being a fan, which we all are and sometimes forget, is hoping when there is no factual reason to hope. I hoped for the best but was prepared for the likely future. You know, there's ways to make points without being a real Jauron.
NJBuffFan Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Well, I don't think our defense could get any worse. Next up! Let's see what they can do.
John from Riverside Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 In the end Merrimen was just a matter of time...not a matter of how many sacks.... When we started out with Merriman......I loved what he was doing in pre season but I was plent PO'd when we released Antonio Colemn (a legit 270 outside lb who also played pretty darn well in preseason) and kept a project like that OLB we drafted late this year....especially because the danger of Merriman not making it through the season was very real. And combined with that we have been screwing around with Moates moving him back and forth not lot letting him settle in at his natural position of OLB. Now....we need a OLB
bills1960 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Whatever, better him than someone who has actually been producing. I know he's had "2 sacks" but we all know they weren't even legitimate sacks. Not that this a good thing, just not the end of the world.
Max997 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 ouch but it gets more playing time for Moats and Batten so although it hurts the more they play the better
K-9 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Whatever, better him than someone who has actually been producing. I know he's had "2 sacks" but we all know they weren't even legitimate sacks. Not that this a good thing, just not the end of the world. I'd like to know what other OLBs have been "producing." Other than Kelsay, nobody else has done squat. GO BILLS!!!
The Big Cat Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 We kept him ova Antonio Coleman wtf My thoughts went to AC immediately. Big body, aggressive, fast and looked good in preseason. Is he still out there? Or has he been snatched up? Taking a chance means the odds are greater that things won't work out. We rolled the dice and lost a mil or two. Big whoop. PTR Bought a $0.50 lotto ticket for a $50,000,000,000 purse. Shucks. Moats is getting more pressure on the QB than Merriman was anyway. This is good for his developement if anything. We will be fine, our DC just needs to come up with better blitz packages to free people up. Moats, meet your one new one-legged, mohawked position coach. Listen. Learn. Kelvin Shepard will make a huge impact on this team. Just watch! Remember you heard it here first! And here second!!
buffalo1983 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) Due to the fact that i have recently been experiencing excessive aggravation in my achilles tendon, which is limitation that i have been dealing with for well over two years not, i sought the opinions of multiple medical specialist. after much consideration and unanimous professional recommendations stating that my Achilles is in danger of rupturing, i have been advised that it would be in my best interest to undergo surgery as soon as possible in order to prevent a major injury. I would like to thank all of my fans for their continued support on my road to a full recovery and am looking forward to getting back our on the field. -Lights.
