Mr_Blizzard Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 The Bills are way more exciting that the colts this year.
Offside Number 76 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 its funny I always hear that, yet I dont know a single person outside of Dallas/FW area that likes them. Yankees, oth, have fans all over the world. I don't know who you know, but the Cowboys are the Yankees of the NFL.
John in Jax Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I'd rather stand in line at the grocery store than watch MLB. Speaking of baseball, ESPN just ran about 8 minutes of commercials (out of 11 total minutes of show), since the start of their 11pm "Sportscenter", so that as soon as the WS game ended, they could go "live" to their crew outside of the ballpark in Arlington, TX. I've never seen them do something like that, ever. IMO, they have rrrreaaalllyyy gone downhill over the past couple of years. I don't know who you know, but the Cowboys are the Yankees of the NFL. As someone who travel a LOT, I think that Steeler nation would have something to say about that.....and I would side with the Steelheads too.

The Raiders, Steelers, and Packers all have a significant national following, maybe in that order. And the Steelheads may be a little more visible right now just due to recent success. But I don't think any of those teams have quite the national fanbase that "America's Team" (wow, do I hate that) has. (I travel a lot too, and I've lived all over the country.) Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Just checked the score of this game. I said it pre-season and this just confirms it--the Colts with Manning are a 13-win team, and without him they're a 2-win team. He's their best player and best coach.
Just in Atlanta Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Miami last week and now this crappy team. Time for flex programming indeed. This is insane. How much ad dollars are they losing on a 62-7 game?
benderbender Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I wonder why we haven't seen Dan Orlovsky
NoSaint Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I wonder why we haven't seen Dan Orlovsky Just got back from the dome- and we did see him! That was some preseason play. Starters pulled in the 3rd.... 62 points with 12+ mins to go. What a showing...
bbb Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I'd rather stand in line at the grocery store than watch MLB. That's really your loss. As usual, the postseason has been great. Pujols is Babe Ruth and showed it last night, and the Rangers pitched a gem tonight.....I love it, and wish the NFL would go back to not scheduling their main prime time game against it.....But, I know my numbers are getting smaller while the NFL just keeps getting bigger.
reddogblitz Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I blame this on one guy. Bill Polian. How could he not have a backup for Manning that they think might actually be able to play. Pure arrogance.
Bills!Win! Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 With Kc and Indy playing back to back weeks on Sunday night this year we could very well see the bills flexed
Geno Smith's Arm Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 its funny I always hear that, yet I dont know a single person outside of Dallas/FW area that likes them. Yankees, oth, have fans all over the world. Take a look at merchandise sales, and it's pretty clear that the Cowboys have a ton of fans throughout the country. It's likely that you have a very limited social circle.
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 The stupid NFL should learn it's lesson and spread primetime games out among all 32 teams. No they should not. Why oh why would I want to stay up late to watch the Seahawks play the Jaguars?
bbb Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Wasn't 62-7 the score of the playoff game that put Marino into retirement?

It's likely that you have a very limited social circle. No one ever shows these lists and unless they're broken down by home and "away" sales doesn't say anything about popularity outside of home market. Could just as easily mean they sell more merchandise at home. All this Dallas coverage probably stems from jones making sponsors believe people outside of Dallas want to see his team so they can get more exposure. across the country and outside America I see zero basis for believing they're anyhing like the "Yankees of football". Repulsif Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Wasn't 62-7 the score of the playoff game that put Marino into retirement? Jimmy Jonhson if I remember well.

zow2 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I blame this on one guy. Bill Polian. How could he not have a backup for Manning that they think might actually be able to play. Pure arrogance. I was thinking this last night. When you have a player like Manning, you have to pay some bucks to have something reasonable behind him. For several years they had Sorgi, who was a decent fill in, but the last few years they have had just crap holding the clipboard.
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I was thinking this last night. When you have a player like Manning, you have to pay some bucks to have something reasonable behind him. For several years they had Sorgi, who was a decent fill in, but the last few years they have had just crap holding the clipboard. True on both. The point here is just that alleged geniuses look that way when they have terrific players. Ask Jimmy Johnson how much of a genius he was without Aikman and Smith when he was down in MIA. The Polian-worshippers, however, refuse to see this.
plenzmd1 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Maybe I am on the only one here, but I love me 1.00pm Sunday Bills games..and hate night games. That was the only, and i mean only, positive of the suckitude of the last 10 years..98% 1.00pm games
