snamsnoops Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Are you really interpreting my use of the word sneak as if I meant it would take some covert operation to get him back to the practice squad, or was that a poor attempt at humor? I was simply acknowledging that any time you cut a player you would like to keep, there is some element of risk involved. I also acknowledged that it would be unlikely for him to get picked up by saying that we could probably get him back on the practice squad. LOL it was a joke, but you did say sneak! Maybe put or place would have been better. I thought it sounded funny saying we have to sneak a nobody on our P.S. Sorry didn't know u were so delicate! All in good fun brutha!!
BuffaloBill Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Should we reunite the Ryan Fitzpatrick and Terrell Owens combo? After all they did look pretty good. Now Fitz is a better player in a better offense. Owens Story No ... TO was classy when he played in Buffalo and i give him a ton of credit for it. However, a return is likely to be too much of a media circus. Besides he has hands of stone and is not the receiver he once was.
8-8 Forever? Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Okay we sign him. Then what happens in 2 weeks when Donald Jones is back? PTR Agreed. This is not fantasy football guys. We are fine at WR, a little short right this second, but Gailey just schemes around it. This is the guy's genius, let him do his thing. We two weeks to prepare, the Redskins will not know what hit them. I am really looking forward to seeing the new wrinkles that I have to believe will come from a Chan Gailey bye week.
Buftex Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Heard on the radio, Titans are already sniffing around Owens...good for him...better for us.
RyanC883 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Here is an outside the box idea. Sign him if for nothing more to teach our young guys the game in depth when needed. Him and StevieJ are buddies to this day and Stevie gives him alot of credit for what he learned from the vet guy, he had a good run with Fitz, was very classy when he left the organization. As long as he is clear on his role with the football team before he comes on board. What do you all think? Cheap signing too. Exactly. Steve exploded the year after TO left, and something clearly changed in his game. If that was instruction from TO, then even more the reason to bring him on board to help win games and help the younger guys.
marauderswr80 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Im a little torn on this.... Yes id take T.O. Back....he would be a nice fit! On the other hand having spiller and jackson on the field together is great! I truely do feel that spiller at wr would be a better fit then T.O. At this point.... And to be honest.....i think we are ok with who we have now! We are 4 and 2...and only 2 losses by 3 pts.... We are in good shape! Just need to get healthy is all. Bill from NYC Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 There's still room for both in the 5 wide. But ya know GG, he drops passes and he is old, let alone crazy. My inclination is to pass.
#1BillsfaninTx Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 If we were to do this the only one that should be dropped is Martin
PDaDdy Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 It's already been said but if he is better than what we have, why not sign him? I know the idea is get better through the draft. Low cost contracts is a side effect of that approach but there is more than one way to get better without breaking the bank.
jwmann2 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I really can't stand TO. Outstanding player but he's the reason the Bengals chemistry was completely ruined last season. So glad he and Chad are gone. And to think that he is going to be able to come in and play immediately is a joke. Rosenhaus is full of it and just wants a paycheck, TO is going to command veteran money.
Mr. WEO Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 It has been, what, a week since someone started a "how about TO?" thread. The big news that he is "cleared" to play part of a season for yet another team made this latest posting inevitable, I guess. The best thing TO did for Stevie was to leave Buffalo. If you want tyo bring him in to "teach" the WRs, make him a WR coach and pay him accordingly. Otherswise accept that he is the last thing a serious team needs on their roster.
Geno Smith's Arm Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 They aren't gonna sign him, so who cares.
Momma Pecoraro Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Terrel needs a few more mother's little helpers.
rpcolosi Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 YES NOW! plus SJ loves him. PLease buddy. PLEASE!
Doc Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 The Bills don't need a WR. Jones may be back for the Jets game, maybe the Dols game, and they have other options like working Spiller in there more, Nelson, Roosevelt, etc.
BillsObserver Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I'd rather wait until the Pats cut Ochocinco next year and give him a shot as opposed to a guy coming off a serious injury. And Jones will be ready sooner than we expect. I just didn't realize how important Jones was to this offense.
SactoBillFan Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Just doesn't feel right. TO should retire.
PromoTheRobot Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 There's still room for both in the 5 wide. Again, who are you going to cut? The Bills are not going to carry 7 WRs. PTR
Pilsner Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) Don't stunt Jones' progress. Stevie's was held back too long. Edited October 20, 2011 by Pilsner
