Coach55 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 After the first 5 weeks where the Bills won the mistake differential, this game was different. Fitzy made 3 mistakes which cost the game. There was also one terrible play call by Gailey (but I can't rule this a mistake). 1. Fitzy's 2 interceptions. Neither ball was thrown well. In both situations the coverage was there and the ball was totally underthrown. Losing the turnover battle is always a recipe for disaster. 2. The Bills were driving deep in Giants territory and Fitz took a sack on a 3rd down, knocking them out of FG range. This play turned out be crucial as if he would have thrown it away, Lindell would have had a 42-43 yd FG attempt, instead they punt. This one you couldn't blame on the line as Fitz had all day to throw. For the record the one bad play call by Gailey was the 3rd and inch call where he called Freddy off-tackle who then lost a yard. He needed an inch. How about a QB sneak (which he did later in the game, knowing not to make the same mistake twice). He could have run the wildcat with Brad Smith or even brought McIntyre in as a lead blocker to set up a seam. Terrible play call.
