Indeed... horrible accident. RIP.

Also, I want to say... it's amazing that cars can go around the track at 200mph, crash into each other, set on fire... and there was only one death.

Drivers had been concerned about the high speeds at the track, where they were hitting nearly 225 mph during practice.

Their concerns became reality when contact on Turn 2 sent cars flying through the air, crashing into each other and into the outside wall and catch fence.

I'm not going to say that racing is evil, but there comes a point at which it's too fast.

These drivers are playing RR each and every time they strap on the helmet and take these cars around the track to race. I'm surprised, but terribly relieved, more deaths don't happen.

So sad that a father and husband is killed tragically due to a sporting event.

RIP. He was a very good driver and seemed like a good guy. As a father of two, I feel horrible about this even more so.

I wouldn't want to sit in the open like that driving at 40 MPH. It's just crazy reading through that story and seeing the only other injury mentioned as a burned finger.
