LabattBlue Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) The saga continues. It is hard to believe there is not enough money to be made on both sides for an agreement to be reached. PaattMaann Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 its because Time Warner is absolutely terrible at their business and they are only successful b/c they are the only option (aside from dish) I HATE TIME WARNER
BuffaloWings Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 This one is almost as mind-boggling as the lockout.
todd Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I just switched to DTV. I love it. So happy to be free of Time Warner and their overpriced, crap service. The saga continues. It is hard to believe there is not enough money to be made on both sides for an agreement to be reached. EIGHT FREAKIN' YEARS and still no deal... http://profootballta...-isnt-national/
CBD Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Isn't the issue less about money and more about Time Warner refusing to offer NFL Network as part of their basic package and instead grouping it with other sports tier package? I get both MLB and NBA networks with the base cable package.
GOBILLS78 Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 its because Time Warner is absolutely terrible at their business and they are only successful b/c they are the only option (aside from dish) I HATE TIME WARNER Oh man, easily the worst company I've ever dealt with. It's not even close. DirecTV, in my experience, has been an absolute godsend.
judman Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I was all ready to switch to DTV. I turned in my cable boxes and everything. TWC called me and offered me a great deal, I really couldn't refuse. Now I have roadrunner, and a very good cable package with DVR for $72/mo. Hell, roadrunner alone was like $50, and I was paying north of $150 before. So I am back to TWC and hoping they work this thing out. I was able to substantially lower my cable rates. Return your boxes to TWC, wait for Retention Services to call (for me it was within 24 hrs), then see what they can offer you.
BringBackFlutie Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 its because Time Warner is absolutely terrible at their business and they are only successful b/c they are the only option (aside from dish) I HATE TIME WARNER Heh- there are 2 other companies- Cox and Comcast. But, despite not having NFLN, TimeWarner is head and shoulders above the other two.
LabattBlue Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 I'm actually more pissed about not being able to get the red zone channel which it sounds like would become part of a sports tier package(which I already have), than I am about not having the NFL Network. I'd like to say this is embarrassing for both parties, but I don't believe they can be embarrassed...no matter what the issue is.

If Sunday Ticket would find a way to offer team-specific packages with RZ as an add-on, they would clearly live by the old adage "What you lose o n the merry-go-round you'll make up on the carousel." Me too, I want to watch Sabres Hockey and had Dish Network, which doesn't have MSG. I was going to do Direct TV but Time Warner came up with 64.99/month - 200 channels and Road Runner extreme. For 2 years to boot. I couldn't say no to that.
QCity Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 This thread just motivated me to call T-W. My bill has been creeping up over the past two years and it's now over the $140 mark. After talking with one rep for 10 min, he transferred me over to a "specialist" and he was able to knock $35/month off for a year. So that will save me $380 this year and by then hopefully FiOS comes to my street.
Mike in Horseheads Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 The saga continues. It is hard to believe there is not enough money to be made on both sides for an agreement to be reached. EIGHT FREAKIN' YEARS and still no deal... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/10/14/eight-years-later-nfl-network-still-isnt-national/ ...I get the TWC crap cable 2-13 for $10 a month (local's) and RR for $50. ...Directv get's me the rest of anything I want and get the Sunday Ticket. As for the Sabres they are on MSG in HD here on DTV. I left DTV a few years ago for Dish and frankly DISH sucks, paid to get out.... a very far #3 from DTV and TWC.
Billshank Redemption Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 switched from time warner to fios after the whole cbs fiasco, i just couldn't take the fact of never knowing when they would f up there contracts besides not having sunday ticket fios has had everything I've needed.
