Pete Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 So many top 20 busts. The Bills obviously whiffed with Maybin. But they did excellent in round two with Byrd and Levitre http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/tracker#dt-by-round-input:1 Eric Wood was a great #1 pick too
PaattMaann Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 so maybe you meant the top of the 2009 draft class was weak?
deep2evans Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 ehh, i see a lot of studs there. Could've gone Orakpo, Delmas, McCoy, Loadholt and been in great shape.
Pete Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 so maybe you meant the top of the 2009 draft class was weak? that first round looks a lot better if you flipped it around

deep2evans Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 ugh give us anyone other than Maybin and that's a sick draft. goddamn maybin, QB cravin.

billsfreak Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 ehh, i see a lot of studs there. Could've gone Orakpo, Delmas, McCoy, Loadholt and been in great shape. Or Clay Matthews, Oher, Josh Freeman, Harvin, Laurinaitis, LeSean McCoy, etc. Wasnt that weak of a draft overall, just alot of high pick busts.
Thoner7 Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Sorry, but Orakpo was hands down, top 2 or 3 player in the entire draft. Make the pick in your sleep and plug him in at Starting DE (or OLB apparently) and not think about the position for 12 years. Maybin was a 5th round talent who offered up nothing. We blew it, and Ill never get over it. The rest of the draft turned out OK though
dpberr Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) I think it's too early to rule the 2009 draft a *total* bust. Yes, Maybin is surely one. He's never performed. Some of those other guys have underperformed so far. I think Curry will end up proving us wrong. Seattle was playing him at the wrong position, so it never surprised me he wasn't as dominant in the NFL as he was at Wake Forest. Hopefully the Raiders put him at middle linebacker where he's' supposed to be. Edited October 14, 2011 by dpberr
symbiant Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) With the excellent way we draft late, we would be such a better team if we didn't mess up our early picks so much. Heck we could use Kiper's draft board and we'd be so much better. Edited October 14, 2011 by symbiant
