In 2009 the Bills scored only 25 touchdowns and were perhaps the most unwatchable team in the league.

In 2010 the Bills improved slightly, scoring 34 touchdowns, which still put them in the bottom third of the league.

In 2011 the Bills have scored 20 touchdowns through 5 weeks, a total surpassed only by the Packers!

I am skeptical about the defense. I recognize we've had some lucky breaks. There are certainly things that make me hesitant to view the Bills as a Super Bowl contender.

However, I just want to take a moment and point out that the Bills have played five very entertaining football games. No longer do I get the urge to go check out what is going on in the other games because the Bills game is so horribly boring.

Whatever happens this year, this is by far the most entertaining and exciting product the Bills have put on the field in many, many years - and for that, as a fan, I am very thankful!

Go Bills!

I have faith that the Bills D will turn it around. They are a group that as a unit, haven't played together as long as the O. They already show promise at times. They force turnovers, and make big stops at big times. Imho they have more talent on that side of the ball. Give them time. They kept us in the Pats* game, and the Eagles game.

They would need to improve their pass rush if they have to turn it around. They were much better last week against the Eagles. Let us see if they can continue to improve. Merriman, Carrington and Moats need to show up.

It's really this -including the bolded part. As Berman said Sunday night, the Bills are strong up the middle on both sides -RB, QB, C/G; DT, MLB, S. Batton & Sheppard saw their longest look last week and I was impressed. Moats as well. Troup is still recovering from a broken hand, Mcgee a hammy and Shawne M is battling a wounded shoulder. Barnett & Dareus only have about 2.5 hours of playing time to date on this team, but are meshing fast. Byrd looks like an All-Pro and Wilson, Scott, Corner & Florence seem to be where the ball is at all times.

There's a big myth running around here that we don't have ANY depth. Granted, the naysayers outnumber the optimists 2-1, but they're wrong. Has the OL missed a beat with the absences of Bell & Urbik? McKelvin's speed is a helluva back up to McGee's savvy and it seems like every week, some new WR steps up and makes plays.

I expect a playoff game this year. More importantly, the building blocks are in place for a nice stretch of playoff appearances.

But, I'm a silly, glass half full fanboy..

I'm just saying that even if that unit doesn't turn it around, this is the most fun and entertaining team in a long, long time.

I'm not saying the team should accept mediocrity and not strive for greatness, I'm saying that as a fan this team has WAY overdelivered on the entertainment front, and that makes me happy :)

The best thing is that we are winning while we try to get better. We can afford to take baby steps and tweak our weaknesses rather than panic and try despiration moves in an attempt to "save" our season.
