JM57 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Good games today by these two rookies. For Hairston, its a great thing when a rookie steps in due to injury at LT, throws a couple great blocks and doesn't get mentioned for anything negative. For Sheppard, nice to see him finally get some snaps at ILB. I think he was out there more than Davis, perhaps the torch has been passed.

Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Yep, Batten and Moats played well too.
CJPearl2 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Moats was all over the place....he needs to play a lot more.
Arkady Renko Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Yep, Batten and Moats played well too. Batten seemed all right, but let's not forget his stupid penalty that led to an Eagles TD.
wnyguy Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I thought Corey Mcintyre was crushing his blocks today, Truly an unsung hero.
Spiderweb Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Yep, Batten and Moats played well too. Batten's helmet to helmet hit on Vick (roughing) negated a defensive stop that led to Eagles finishing with a score instead. That was a huge "Dope" play....other than that, he got beat numerous times on McCoy runs as well. Like his motor but he still hasn't put it together yet. Moats seemed to play well mostly....
bowery4 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Actually Sheep got killed on the long run by Vicks too, but hey rooks make mistakes. I agree the 11 Draft class on the field today looked pretty ok.
Malazan Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hairston was downright impressive to me. I expected a firesale on the left today.
bowery4 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 George Fing Wilson, thanks Dicky for one thing you did right, right there. Both our safeties very big games.
wnyguy Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hairston was downright impressive to me. I expected a firesale on the left today. He played well and kudos to the game plan that allowed him to play that way.
Green Lightning Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hairston was downright impressive to me. I expected a firesale on the left today. That was an impressive debut for a rook. Kid's got a nasty streak to boot.
Nanker Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Actually Sheep got killed on the long run by Vicks too, but hey rooks make mistakes. I agree the 11 Draft class on the field today looked pretty ok. Still not sure how Dareus' sack wasn't intentional grounding on Vick.
bowery4 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I thought Corey Mcintyre was crushing his blocks today, Truly an unsung hero. I totally agree with that assessment but that facemask penalty was a killer. I really wish they would just hand off to the guy once in a while, or hike it to him instead of Brad Smith. And Chan needs to let his guys take the ball out of the EZ on kick offs once in a while and really CJ should be back there too.
cage Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) Yep, Batten and Moats played well too. I like these guys a lot. If they had played last week and we committed to the pass rush the same way against a rookie QB then I believe we would be 5-0 right now. Though I keep thinking of Batten as an ILB, outside? WVUFootball29 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hairston was very impressive today, Shep had a few good plays too. Moats was flying around the field. Dareus had a decent game but needs to make some arm tackles when the runner is going by.
EldaBillsFan Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Batten only had that one bad play...and after that...I think he was afraid to be agressive...but we have a nice rotation of LB's ....
deep2evans Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Actually Sheep got killed on the long run by Vicks too, but hey rooks make mistakes. I agree the 11 Draft class on the field today looked pretty ok. you simply can't expect a linebacker to stop vick in the open field. hell, i wouldn't expect pat willis to make that play.
Bob in STL Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hairston was downright impressive to me. I expected a firesale on the left today. +1
EldaBillsFan Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hairston I agree....and he didn't need any help.... I remember during the draft they said he was taken to early
