twist_to_open Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Love him or hate him, he was a sinificant part of what the NFL is today. RIP Al.
billsfaninvgs Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 It's always sad when people pass away. I am not a Raider fan but Mr. Davis made things interesting. R.I.P to a visionary and pioneer
Bob in STL Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Al Davis - One of the great stories in the game. He did everything, scout, coach, manage, and own. As AFL commisioner, before the merger agreement, he looked the NFL square in the eye and they flinched first. RIP.
Kelly the Dog Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 RIP Mr. Davis. Extremely influential and essential owner who helped make the AFL prosper and the NFL what it is today. Great owner, all around, despite the crazy years. We lost a good one.
Captain Caveman Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I hope Ralph got paid back for that little loan.
PS 56 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 A lot of colorful moments have gone with him. RIP
You herd it hear last Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Al Davis, a true visionary.... R.I.P.
Just Jack Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 From the Raiders/Bills game, just a few weeks ago....
Bufcomments Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 This is a sad day for the NFL and the old AFL. I had to stop the car and pull over and listen and think for a sec. It made me think about Ralph and his health. RIP Al Davis JUST WIN BABY
Raider fan Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Really sad. Great owner, real key figure in making the NFL what it is today Thanks guys respect
Chef Jim Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I'll be at the Raider game next week. That should be strange. First home game after his death.
KOKBILLS Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Wow! A true Football icon...Bigger than life...Makes me feel old to think he's gone... RIP...
saundena Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 RIP Al. Kinda bring things into perspective considering our situation with Ralph. Hopefully this clandestine meeting with Kelly and Crew has to deal with future ownership. Not that I want Ralph to pass or anything, but his health is shaky and it would be comforting to know there was a plan. Ideally, he'd live for another 20 years and someone else would own the Bills- and when that new owner lifts the Lombardi trophy over his head after willing the SB, he would dedicate that moment to Ralph.
