San Jose Bills Fan Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 "The Autumn wind is a Raider Pillaging just for fun He'll knock you 'round and upside down And laugh when he's conquered and won." Steve Sabol as narrated by John Facenda RIP Mr.Davis. There will never be another like you.

EastRochBillsfan Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Like the man or not, a sad day for Raiders fans and football fans alike. Â RIP Mr. Davis
ColdBlueNorth Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 RIP you crazy ol' bastard... I can hear St Peter now, "there goes the neighborhood, and no, they don't come in black and silver." Â My proper Irish sending
Captain Hindsight Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 RIP Al Davis  The NFL was lucky to have you
VanCity Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 RIP Al...in the good times and in the bad times, you were always unequivocally you. The football world lost a great man and a great proponent of the game.
jimmy10 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 "That is my last real memory of Al Davis: It was getting dark in Oakland, the rest of the team had already gone into the showers, the coach was inside speaking sagely with a gaggle of local sportswriters, somewhere beyond the field-fence a big jet was cranking up its afterburners on the airport runway. . . and here was the owner of the flakiest team in pro football, running around on a half-dark practice field like a king-hell speed freak with his quarterback and two other key players, insisting that they run the same goddamn play over and over again until they had it right." - Hunter S. Thompson
Thoner7 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Wow, he always seemed in much better health than Ralph, I thought Ralph would pass before Davis. I cant help but think, with his broken hip, Ralph isnt far off. A very humbling moment. Thanks for building this league, to the both of them.
