BuffaloBaumer Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 This seems like the most logical way to get to ten wins so this Philly game this week is just a giant one. Win at home and take care of Biz....Must beat Eagles and Jets At Home: Philly Redskins (kind of) Jets Titans Miami Denver Win in Miami Playoffs very hopeful
EasternOHBillsFan Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 How about beating 0-4 Miami BOTH times and then this Philly game won't be as bad to bear in case something bad happens... I'd lean more towards that.
PromoTheRobot Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 How tough do the Jests look right now? PTR
BuffaloBaumer Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 How about beating 0-4 Miami BOTH times and then this Philly game won't be as bad to bear in case something bad happens... I'd lean more towards that. I have them beating Miami both times as you can see........
DanInUticaTampa Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 the titans and skins games will be a tough sell. they have a better shot at beating the jests twice, imo.
phillyrich Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 the titans and skins games will be a tough sell. they have a better shot at beating the jests twice, imo. Skins still need to show more than what they have shown. Rex Grossman? Not quite there yet in thinking he can be answer for 16 games. Still on fence with Titans. i think Baltimore would have lost to close to anyone, except Miami / Chiefs / Vikings, that second week after their emotional season opening butt whipping of the Steelers. Agree - we win out at home + Miami on the road and 10 wins should get the Bills in. Truth be told - Dallas / GMEN / JETS away really don't scare me either.
EasternOHBillsFan Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I have them beating Miami both times as you can see........ I just now saw it... blind as a bat.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 How about beating 0-4 Miami BOTH times and then this Philly game won't be as bad to bear in case something bad happens... I'd lean more towards that. Division games are tough. It's going to be tough to sweep the Fins, even if they're in a down year. I'm hoping we can go 3-3 in the division, and then eek out 7 more non-division wins.
phillyrich Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 In the spirit of the book Moneyball (great book so far) and all of the statistics that folks have come up with, just realized something here about a good portion of our upcoming schedule. The following teams blitz A LOT - Eagles, Skins, Jets x2, Cowboys, Dolphins x2, Titans (Jerry Gray. Fitz and the Offense fairs very, very well against the blitz. We will be at an advantage in these games because of Fitzy and Wood identifying blitzes and blitz pick up. Add in Denver at home and the prospect of 10 wins is not our of the realm of truly possible.
BillsFanNC Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I promise you the Bills will lose some of the games you identified as need to win and that they will win some that you didn't think likely. Let the season unfold one week at a time and enjoy the games.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The premise of your thread is ridiculous.
dpberr Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Every game on the schedule is winnable when the team shows up and is motivated to play. We can beat a Rex Grossman team. Yes, we can. We aren't talking Les Grossman, but Rex Grossman.
BuffaloBaumer Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 The premise of your thread is ridiculous. What is? Winning at home (like good teams do) and beating the worst away opponent on the schedule? I did not say it was the only way - IMO, the easiest way
LeviF Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I did not say it was the only way... You most certainly did. Right Now, For The Bills To Get To 10 Wins They HAVE To Win All Home Games & Miami Away
BuffaloBaumer Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 You most certainly did. I also opened up the text with the most logical way..................
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 What is? Winning at home (like good teams do) and beating the worst away opponent on the schedule? I did not say it was the only way - IMO, the easiest way "They HAVE TO win all home games..."
truth on hold Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I've done the math and for bills to get 10 W's means winning 7 of their last 12 games. Simulations have demonstrated it doesn't matter where the wins are distributed, as long as they total 7. That's one game above .500 for those scoring at home.

Seriously? All of a sudden I'm longing for the stupid power ranking threads.
