Chef Jim Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 It's an absolute dump. Like most cities, there are nice areas, but the whole city used to be beautiful. Any more you feel like you're in a fight scene from "Starship Troopers." "It's an ugly planet. It's a bug planet." Not true. There are plenty of nice areas.

Chef Jim Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Occupy San Francisco Photo Gallery Hahaha! "Give us our dignity back!" as they sit chained to a door with their hands in yellow cardboard tubes. I love the one "Give us our City back" while they try to shut it down. What a bunch of hypocrites. And once again do they have any idea what the major corporations have done for this city and all others? There are no major corporations in places like Kabul and look at those shitholes.

Yeah but on the plus side the people of Kabul are not under the yoke of student debt.
Chef Jim Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Yeah but on the plus side the people of Kabul are not under the yoke of student debt. And that's why they live in mud huts.
Jim in Anchorage Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 And that's why they live in mud huts. Don't give the OWS crowd ideas. Tents on the sidewalk are bad enough.

They want everyone to be miserable like them. They can't stand success by corporations or individuals for that matter.
Jauronimo Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) While we can all agree that OWS is a pinko-commie plot to ruin Western Civilization as we know it, might it all be just a diversion to direct our attention away from the real threatrt? Given the total failure to the proletariat to cast off their chains and seize the means of production, the photos below suggest that the Russians are targeting another demographic for global revolution, children. Exhibit A Exhibit B Exhibit C You be the judge. Are these top secret training photos, or just the perversions of an abusive pedophile. But before you decide, consider: Fact, there are an estimated 2.2 billion children in the world today, almost TWICE the population of China! With an average annual inflation adjusted income of $0, children make up the largest contingent of the 99%. The income gap between adults and children has grown almost 20% in the last decade alone. Children have become increasingly hostile toward adults, citing the growing gap between homework and play, unfair bedtimes, and too many vegetables. With the advent of facebook, twitter, foursquare, cell phones and other technological innovation, children around the world are connected and capable of organizing like never before. The question isn't if, but when... Edited January 25, 2012 by Jauronimo

Just Jack Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Occupy DC Barred from Camping How long before there will be a string of arrests when the protesters refuse to cooperate? "Although 24/7 demonstration vigils and the use of symbolic temporary structures, including empty tents used as symbols of the demonstration, may be permitted in the park areas, camping and the use of temporary structures for camping is not." So they can still have tents as long as no one uses them?
DC Tom Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 "Although 24/7 demonstration vigils and the use of symbolic temporary structures, including empty tents used as symbols of the demonstration, may be permitted in the park areas, camping and the use of temporary structures for camping is not." So they can still have tents as long as no one uses them? Yep, looks like. Note that the DC city government just wants both camps moved to a different location where they can provide for the sanitation needs - basically, to find a location where they can be permanent temporary camps. I'll bet, too, that at least one DC politician will be arrested at one of the camps, in a show of solidarity with the nutjobs (it's happened before).

IDBillzFan Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/28/10260959-hundreds-arrested-at-occupy-oakland-protesters-break-into-city-hall I get the sense that OWS has, itself, been occupied by the hard left. Storming city halls. Burning American flags. Crapping on police cars. Rapes. Disease. Dead bodies and unattended babies. Sounds less like what it started out as and more like the Purple People Beaters have a new gig for the 2012 election.
