B-Man Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Occupier Devolution If you have ever wondered what would happen in a society consisting entirely of liberals, the Occupier movement is providing the answer: devolution. It is almost impossible to keep up with the downward spiral, but here are some of the highlights of the last 24 hours: * In Portland, an Occupier was arrested for throwing a Molotov cocktail down the stairwell of a building. * In London, employees of St. Paul’s Cathedral have had to clean up human waste left by Occupiers inside the cathedral. (What is it with the Occupiers and toilet issues?) * In Portland, another drug overdose. * In Vermont, a man was shot to death at the Occupy Burlington encampment. * At Occupy San Diego, a citizen journalist was violently assaulted. * In Atlanta, tuberculosis has broken out among the Occupiers. * In Salt Lake City, four were arrested after a melee broke out in the Occupy encampment. * In San Francisco, police expressed concern about escalating violence among the Occupiers, following incidents including gun possession, assault on a city worker and trespassing on the new holiday ice rink. And this is just a smattering of today’s headlines! The Occupiers are conducting a sort of experiment in the viability of left-wing ideas, and the results aren’t pretty. Powerline link

Dante Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Oakland mayor Jean Quan has so !@#$ed this thing up. The cops went crazy that one night and now she has become a huge chicken **** with allowing this crap to continue. I can't believe our "leaders" are allowing these people to break the law like this. As we call SF the city of unenforced laws I see that lack of backbone is found in most of our "leaders". It is illegal to camp in public spaces isn't it? How could they be allowed to shut down a major port like Oakland?? Shouldn't the feds step in and break that up?
RkFast Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 How could they be allowed to shut down a major port like Oakland?? Shouldn't the feds step in and break that up? Why should they? If theres one thing thats clear in this Country (and the world)...is that the law is never equally applied. Those who run with the agenda of those in power can do whatever they want, those who dont pay the price. Take this issue for a second....the next Tea Party rally in Oakland? Someone jaywalks and the cops will be busting skulls becuase the Tea Party, in that case is on the wrong side of the local govts.' agenda.
Nanker Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Michael Moore's $1.8 million lakeside home in Michigan. Will he let the Occupy crowd hang out there? Nice digs.
Jauronimo Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) Michael Moore's $1.8 million lakeside home in Michigan. Will he let the Occupy crowd hang out there? Nice digs. Maybe he can let the occupiers crash with him at his Manhattan penthouse. While giving them the tour of his exclusive condo he can explain to the occupiers how he claims the Michigan lake house as his primary residence to avoid paying NY State taxes. I'm sure they'll love to hear about that. http://www.mooreexposed.com/wackoattacko.htm Edited November 11, 2011 by Jauronimo
DC Tom Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Michael Moore's $1.8 million lakeside home in Michigan. Will he let the Occupy crowd hang out there? Nice digs. Of course not. We all have $1.8M houses...or, at least the 99% of us that Michael Moore claims to be representative of.
Chef Jim Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Of course not. We all have $1.8M houses...or, at least the 99% of us that Michael Moore claims to be representative of. I have no idea how people live in those monstrosities.
DC Tom Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I have no idea how people live in those monstrosities. What, you never have moments when you wish you could get farther away from the wife? I know Michael Moore doesn't, of course...
Chef Jim Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 What, you never have moments when you wish you could get farther away from the wife? I know Michael Moore doesn't, of course... That's what they make cars and bars for.
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Nice digs. Torch lake... That has a connection to Lake Michigan via Elk Lake and Grand Traverse Bay... For now they are nice digs with waterfront access... Wait till the Asian carp start popping like corn in/on the water! That will get old Michael Moore to slow down his boat (if he has one).

Dave_In_Norfolk Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Good! http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1111/Occupy_Wall_Street_is_winning.html Whatever the objectives of protesters involved in Occupy Wall Street, they have succeeded in engaging the country in a conversation about income inequality. A quick search of the news--including print articles, web stories and broadcast transcripts--via Nexis reveals a significant rise in the use of the term “income inequality,” from less than 91 instances in the week before the occupation started to almost 500 instances last week
/dev/null Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Good! http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1111/Occupy_Wall_Street_is_winning.html Duh! Winning!
Buff_bills4ever Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Good! http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1111/Occupy_Wall_Street_is_winning.html And it only took a half dozen deaths, hundreds of injuries, thousands of arrests, millions of taxpayer dollars, thousands of wasted police man-hours, several sexual assaults, and dozens of businesses shut down to get that! That's a win in my book!
Jauronimo Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) Duh! Winning! Wow, higher incidence of the phrase "income inequality"! Who cares what context those phrases appeared in, it must be good? What that report failed to mention was the spike in usage of other phrases and terms associated with the OWS movement, including: Dirty hippies, delusional brats, financially and politically ignorant, void of organization, without direction, total cluster f@#$, abortion of a movement, sea of feces, and bum rape, to name a few Considering the protesters have yet to define any goals or objectives, how can you consider any outcome associated with OWS to be "winning", Dave? Look up specious then look up reasoning. Take time off for headaches. Yep. I could go wild and kill all the employees at the local K mart while shouting "save the whales". Hey it worked! More save the whales press!
IDBillzFan Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 In fairness to the Politico article; OWS did get the conversation turned to income equality...for about 20 seconds before the full-time conversation turned to "man, these people are a mess."
Chef Jim Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Good! http://www.politico....is_winning.html Income inequality? You mean to say there are people out there that make more money that other people?
