Scrappy
Fitz's new nickname: James Dean (Rebel with a cause) Link to story Fitzpatrick may be one of the smartest quarterbacks in the league, but that doesn’t mean he follows the rules when he matches wits with defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. Zimmer admires the “little gunslinger to him.” “He’s very, very confident. He throws the ball into a lot of tight windows and he’s not afraid to throw the ball,” Zimmer said after Wednesday’s practice. “In general the rule on Cover 2 is not to throw the ball down the seam. He throws the ball down the seam. If it’s Cover 3, three-deep, or single-high, that means the rule is don’t throw into the middle of the field, throw it outside. He doesn’t go by the rules.” Edited September 29, 2011 by Scrappy
D521646
There's "published" breakdowns of the Bills spread offense? Where? Tim-
Never NEVER Give-up
I haven't seen anything published, but I do remember someone (either calling the game or NFL Network replay) say the crossing patterns lead to tipped balls - but they were talking about the Pats (and the Dareus tip & Flo TD return). Perhaps they're thinking the Bills & Pats offenses are the same . . .

hondo in seattle
There's "published" breakdowns of the Bills spread offense? Where? Tim- Tim, the WSJ - of all publications - had a nice piece about the Bills offensive scheme. It was more insightful than most of the stuff I read about the Bills. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204422404576595233381220172.html

CardinalScotts
been listening to Cincinnati radio this week - the over all feeling is this is THAT Fitz the guy who was with the Bengals THIS Fitz is one of the best QB's in the NFL. Marvin called it a must game big difference between 2-2 and 1-3. Keep mentioning Joseph not being there - secondary can not hold up. Chris Kelsay's brother Chad (former Nebraska player too) says Chris told him they had a different idea on pressure for Brady, "I think it will work". I think it worked well enough
truth on hold
Well it's true that's how the bradiots get Welker open so often. They send a TE and another receiver (could be a TE, WR or RB) out in front of Welker and cross in front of him as he runs underneath. If Brady reads the defense is over playing Welker and releasing on the TE in the slot for example, he throws to the TE. If he sees the defenders staying with the crossing receivers he finds Welker underneath who now has blcokers in front of him It's a basic play they run over and over. Welker is perfect because he has sure hands and is small and tough and can stay on his feet in traffic. It happens so fast it nullifies pressure and that's why it's so important defenses get their hands up to knock down the short passes. Dennis in NC
It was a good article, but didn't rise to the level of "published breakdown" No, but it sure explains a lot to the casual viewer (well, rabid Bills fan, but no time for breaking down film!).
