3rdnlng Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Probably because the Iranians are going to greater lengths to make sure they have the facts of the case correct. Troy Davis was convicted of murder and sentenced to the death penalty. Is there a chance that he possibly might not have done it? Yes, but he was convicted. The Christian pastor in Iran may be executed for being a Christian or for possibly changing religions. Those Iranian government officials and religious leaders sure are a just group of people. Jauronimo Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I bet if the Christian pastor were black this would get media coverage. Happy?

Except that the pastor may not have committed the crime, so they're investigating further to see meets the legal requirement of "apostate".

He's going to be convicted regardless. His prior status is going to determine the severity of his penalty.
