EasternOHBillsFan
The Iranian Navy is primed and ready to encroach upon the waters of the United States! All two or three of their mighty fleet...! http://www.cnn.com/2011/09/27/world/meast/iran-navy/index.html "Iran plans to send ships near the Atlantic coast of the United States, state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported Tuesday, quoting a commander. "The Navy of the Iranian Army will have a powerful presence near the United States borders," read the headline of the story, in Farsi."

DC Tom
What, they're putting extra gas cans on the speed boats? I'm thinking maybe someone in the Iranian Navy forgot about logistics, since even their longest ranged ships have a range of only some 5000nm. They might make it here...they're probably not getting back without help, though.

DC Tom
The Coast Guard fleet assigned near/to the area is  They're probably planning the rescue mission already. I wonder when the Iranian boats are planning on coming here. More specifically: I wonder if they know enough to wait to cross the Atlantic until after hurricane season ends. /dev/null
I wonder when the Iranian boats are planning on coming here. I think the Navy and Coast Guard should set up a website broadcasting the location of the Iranian ships. Then encourage owners of private boats to park out to sea and hold massive boat parties with girls in bikinis, booze, and all kinds of Western debauchery. The Iranian crews will mutiny, join the party, and we'll capture their vessels without firing a shot

The originals were built by Britian in the '60s, the Iranians took that design and built new ones in their own shipyards - and apparently, their quality control is sobad that the hull plating will buckle if the ships approach full spead. Who wants a new boat made to a 40-year design that sinks if it goes too fast?
