This week was the 5 year anniversary of the saints return to the superdome... If you remember the game, Steve Gleason blocked a punt early. Perhaps a top 5 moment in team history. The dome, and the city went crazy. Unreal. This Sunday he had to be helped onto the field to lead the pregame "who dat" chant.... Emotional moment for all of us in attendance.,,,. In January he was diagnosed with ALS in one year he went from totally happy and healthy to struggling with day to day tasks. It's thought that head trauma such as that in NFL collisions that are helmet to helmet or seen on kick returns make someone much more likely to suffer from ALS.

This is a long read, but truly worth it. He's quite the man and reading how fast this hit him was unreal. I know the rule changes aren't popular but it's hard to argue if the connections really are there....

As I posted it at an odd time- I wanted to bump it once. I think a few of you will enjoy the article. Like I said, it's a long read but a very good one.
