Keuka Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Micheal Silver wrote an article for Yahoo sports saying that Darren McFadden is the best running back in the NFL. The guy he compares him to is Adrian Peterson. He never even mentions Freddy. Not to take anything away from those backs but come on. Give Fred his due. Did you see the blocking he did against the Pats? Lining up as a wide receiver and and icing the game in the fourth quarter? Running over, through, and around people? He went head to head with McFadden last week and owned him. Being a great running back mean more than running the ball. There isn't a better all around running back in the NFL than Fred Jackson!
Captain Hindsight Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Keep it coming Media... see you in the playoffs
Green Lightning Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I could care less what those guys say or write. The less teams want to know about Freddy the better. Because they will continue to underestimate him and he will B'slap them game time. Fred Jackson is a gamer and winner. We got'em and that's enough for me. Now let's just pay the guy.
McD Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I hope we continue to get no love from the media... it seems to be working well for us...
nucci Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Relax. It's just an opinion. McFadden is a pretty good back. We know what we have and are happy.
CSBill Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 And we kept him in-check, he got yards, but he didn't gash our defense like he did the Jets. He is good, and so is Fred.
inkman Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I love Fred and wouldnt trade him for any RB but McFadden is just a different breed. Like AP, the combination of size & speed is just uncanny.

Nucci: I must say, when I feel too many on the board have lost any semblance of perspective, you're always there to save the day. Thank you. As to the point about Fred, yes, he's awesome.
Kkspike Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 mcfadden and peterson are better running backs ,size and speed for running the ball.freddie is better all around running back ,catching, picking up blitzes and always seems to be in the right spot.peterson you have to give him the ball on 1st and 2nd down.he needs to carry the rock.mcfadden is super fast but he runs upright and takes to many hits.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Stupid is as Stupid does. The players will prove what's right.
wonderbread Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 And the church said the earth was flat. we all know how that turned out.
High Mark Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Something tells me Jackson is the back Gailey was hoping Spiller to be. And you would be amazed which one was undrafted.
silvermike Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I'm not going to get too pissed off when a media figure does not name our player as "the best in the league."
MDH Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Something tells me Jackson is the back Gailey was hoping Spiller to be. And you would be amazed which one was undrafted. Jackson was the best player on the Bills team two years ago - the season BEFORE they drafted Spiller. Jackson has always been this good, this isn't something new. I don't dislike Spiller but I'll never understand the Bills's brass believing they needed to draft another RB that early when they had Fred Jackson (and Marshawn Lynch for that matter) on the roster already.

I could understand it because Lynch sucked. He's never going to be anything more than a short yardage guy who'll occasionally tease you. Marshawn lacks the vision and football sense required to be a good, consistent NFL running back.

Don't disagree with you in regards to Lynch's abilities but you don't spend a top 10 pick for a backup RB. Lynch was good enough as a backup.
Cotton Fitzsimmons Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 The neglect will continue to fuel Freddie. The way Freddie plays, I wouldn't want anyone else on this team right now.
SF Bills Fan Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I would like it if the media said Fred was not and elite back and they ranked the Bills 32. I want us to be the underdog every week.
wnyguy Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I don't think I ever appreciated Freddy as much as I have these last two games. I believe he provided the spark that fired up our offense in both games. The guy is just a phenomenal back.
ETD66SS Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Jackson is a great FOOTBALL player. McFadden is a better runner IMO.
