Matty Shu Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Pats 3, Bills 7. Means nothing I know but, C'mon. Also has Lions ranked higher than us and I question the strength of the Lions opponents compred to Bills. Lions have beat two 0-3 teams.
Dr. Fong Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I have no problem with that. Part of the reason the Patriots are ranked higher is that they've shown they can lose and bounce back. Wait until the season rolls on and see where the Bills are ranked. We'll have a better idea what kind of team they are then.
BuffaloBill Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 The Bills will continue to be ranked lower until they string a few more wins together. Remember the Bills started the season 0-8 last year and have been irrelevant for decade - it is going to take some time to erase this history.
Matty Shu Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 I know and maybe the Pats should be ranked higher but Bills should be closer to the top. Maybe 4 or 5. I think maybe we will if we beat the Jets.
ETD66SS Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I see no problem with that. Bills still have a lot to prove.

BTW - King has been giving the Bills decent press since the pre-season.
metzelaars_lives Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 +1. For Peter King and for all of us. BTW - King has been giving the Bills decent press since the pre-season. Agreed 100% He's been all about the Bills since training camp. I would've guessed that the Bills will be ranked around 9-10 in the ESPN poll. They definitely deserve to be ranked behind the Pats. The Pats only loss is to go a good team on the road in a close game they probably should've won. The Bills are due for a clunker and when it happens, it'll put things in perspective. Not to say this team can't make the playfofs.
beggar13 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 King is one of the few who was giving us love before the season started. If someone is ranking the Lions higher than eye, my guess is that it's all based how they view our rosters.
dollars 2 donuts Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Like most of the others here I am fine with that and kind of knew it was going to be the case headed into today. My problem, though, is with other 2-1 teams that might be ranked ahead of us and Matty I think the Lions are great, but I agree with you...they have more to prove 3 games in now than we do.
Matty Shu Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Im not bashing King or anything, did'nt mean for it to come off that way. He does give us great press and its awesome to read what he writes about Buff. But I was honestly really hoping to be ranked above Detroit and Houston.
Dorkington Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I'm fine with that, the Pats have recent history on their side, the Bills don't. We'll have to put together more wins and continue to prove ourselves.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Finally, we can get back to hating Peter King.
McD Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I think he's spot on with his assesment. Nothing wrong with #7. Hell, if you told me we'd be ranked #7 three weeks into the season, I'd think you were on something!
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I think you need to consider neutral site matchups when you do the rankings, and although I'm still smiling from yesterday, I would still like the Pats - for now - in that scenario.
South Jersey Bills Fan Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I really don't know why this would bother anyone...
LabattBlue Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 The power ranking threads get more ridiculous every week. Not that they matter at all, but the Bills are ranked 7th....SEVENTH, and yet a thread is started....ABOUT THEM ONLY BEING RANKED SEVENTH.

Gavin in Va Beach Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) 1. King likely holds the idea that 'if they play 10 times, New England probably wins 6-7 of them', so he feels even with the loss the Pats are the better team. It's his column, his opinions, so whatever ranking he has....whatever. 2. More importantly, I opened the sports section of my paper this morning, and for some reason it had the Bills ranked higher in the AFC East at 3-0 than the Patriots at 2-1. THAT'S the only ranking that concerns me. Edited September 26, 2011 by Gavin in Va Beach
The Big Cat Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Like most of the others here I am fine with that and kind of knew it was going to be the case headed into today. Except we're one of three, count them, THREE 3-0 teams in the NFL (and the only one in the AFC). Are we the best team in the AFC, certainly not. Are we among the top 3 in the NFL, tough to say, but as a professional journalist, I wouldn't put my credibility on the line and declare so. Finally, we can get back to hating Peter King. Nice! The power ranking threads get more ridiculous every week.
