Last Guy on the Bench Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 "I'll tell you what," Lindell said with a smile. "I would have just ran up that tunnel and kept on running if I missed." espn afc east blog
BuckeyeBill Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 If he would have missed the kick... we would have needed him to kick another one in OverTime! I hope he wouldn't have run too far.
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) He would have ranked up there with Tom Dempsey. Back in 1979 @ Rich, didn't Dempsey miss a fairly close one (considering he holds a tie with the record @ 63) to extend the losing streak against the Fins. RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 He would have ranked up there with Tom Dempsey. Back in 1979 @ Rich, didn't Dempsey miss a fairly close one (considering he holds a tie with the record @ 63) to extend the losing streak against the Fins. 32 yards.... middle of the field... the rain had stopped, sun was out. Sigh. It still hurts, yeah. But yesterday makes a lot of things better! P.S. Ironically, Dempsey had missed an even short FG at the gun in 1973 for the Iggles in a 27-26 loss to the Bills at Rich.
