Major game Sunday...

1 p.m.--SD at Indy. The Bolts have a prime opportunity to wrest the #2 seed from the Pats, but they must first beat Peyton Who & his insurance adjuster friends in the Dome. Achieve that, and the pressure is squarely on NE to hold serve in the Swamplands in the late game.

The other early games to scoreboard-watch before the Bills kick off in Frisco: Houston Problem at Jax and Ravens at Steelers.

It would behoove the Tennefrauds to get the weekend off on the right foot by dispatching the fading Bronx Saturday night. Volek-to-Bennett for another five TDs would be nice.

The Colts can't take #2.  I don't know about SD, but the Colts can't do it since at worst the Pats finish 13-3 (assuming they lose to the Jets and beat the 49'ers at home), and that's the best the Colts can finish.  The Pats beat the Colts in the first game of the NFL season, so they hold the head-to-head tie-breaker.

Agreed, Colts can't take #2 in head-to-head tiebreak vs. NE (Pats hold that), but the Bolts CAN on better conference record (10-2 to NE's 9-3) if they win out vs. Indy and KC and the Pats lose to the Dog-Ass Jets.

Chargers have been on a great roll, but this game will truly test their mettle.

But a 13-3 SD team will win the tiebreaker over a 13-3 Pats team that loses to NY this Sunday. So if you want the Pats to potentially lose their first-round bye, then yes you will be rooting for SD this Sunday.
