It would not be a surprise that the British invented the Palestinian....since they invented the Jordanian, Syrian, Iraqi, and pretty much everybody else in that part of the world. These people had tribes, city-states and some squabbling little kingdoms when the French and British showed up and started making nations out of the mess that they found.
