ChevyVanMiller Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) Sorry if this has already been posted, but if you haven't seen it Brian Baldinger breaks down the game winning TD against Oakland. It was the same set that they used on the pass to Chandler earlier where he was spun around on the goal line. The Raiders bit hard and Fitz said he took an extra second to make sure he was actually reading it right that nelson was uncovered. Best part is Chandler at the end slapping Fitz as the QB laughs while saying, "They didn't cover him." Anatomy of a Play - Nelson TD against Raiders Edited September 22, 2011 by ChevyVanMiller
Picnic Table F'er Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 That's not even an accurate analysis. Why is Baldinger fuch a retard? Spiller was the reason Nelson was open, they double covered Spiller and left Nelson free. Baldinger doesn't even mention that.
ChevyVanMiller Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 That was awesome! Thanks for finding that. Thanks, Rubes. Let's hope he's doing another one of a great play that sinks the *Pats this week.

Nanker Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Love how The Amish Rifle slaps Chan Fitzgailey on the azz at the end of that.
PDaDdy Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) Two guys covered him in error, it was a blown coverage. Spiller was killing them that drive. They were obviously worried that he was the go to guy to make a yard on 4th and 1. Edited September 21, 2011 by PDaDdy

ChevyVanMiller Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 After watching this along with the "Mic'd Up" piece last night I am really impressed with Fitzy's pre-snap reads. He is at an elite level right now and he will need every bit of that ability this weekend to beat the *Pats.
Kelly the Dog Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Two guys covered him in error, it was a blown coverage. Gailey said specifically about that play, that teams worry about him in the game, and take account for him, and often he takes two guys out of the play and people don't notice it. That's why he put him in there and ran that play, hoping that he would draw extra looks. Otherwise he puts Fred Jackson in on that play. Yes, they blew the coverage by two guys going toward him but that likely would not have happened had it not been Spiller. Nelson also said they were worried about his speed on the outside, which drew them after him.

I don't disagree, my response was to a post that claimed that the Raiders lined up with the intent to double cover Spiller. Perhaps who the player was caused the confusion, but even Hue Jackson said in his post game press conference that it was a blown coverage, meaning one of the guys who went with Spiller was supposed to cover Nelson.

But obviously you are unqualified, seeing as you actually know what you are talking about.
Max997 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Spiller needs to be involved in the passing game more often and i think he will be id like to see him catch more passes on the run out of the backfield like the way the Eagles used westbrook and now mccoy
