Hapless Bills Fan Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I thought Eddins looked really, really promising in preseason Was bummed when the Bills put him on IR Now bummed that they reached an injury settlement and released him. Per Bills press release, that likely indicates that Eddins feels the injury is not season-ending and wants to be free to sign with another team.
Doc Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 At best he's looking at being signed to another team's PS and making a fraction what he would have on full-season IR with the Bills. Oh well.

Doc Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Any idea how much of a fraction an injury settlement typically is? No, but practice squad players get "just" $5400/week, versus $375K for roster salary for a rookie.
Max997 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 No, but practice squad players get "just" $5400/week, versus $375K for roster salary for a rookie. the injury settlement was probably a portion of his salary so even if he signs to someones practice squad he will be making out better plus this gives him a head start on making a roster next year he obviously cares more about trying to play or at least practice then sitting around collecting a check

Who says he can't practice on IR? bc players are not permitted to practice when they are on IR Edited September 21, 2011 by Max997
Beerball Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Could be wrong...but if he clears he is free to sign with the Bills after a waiting period. Ya never know.
G-Daddy Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Could be wrong...but if he clears he is free to sign with the Bills after a waiting period. Ya never know. Correct, especially if our defense runs into a string of injuries.

Kelly the Dog Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Could be wrong...but if he clears he is free to sign with the Bills after a waiting period. Ya never know. I don't think he can play for the Bills the entire year under any circumstances. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2011/09/20/lb-eddins-released-from-i-r/
