I don't know either way whether they are talking or not about a contract. There is a very good chance that Stevie himself doesn't know.

Players will often tell their agents they really don't want to talk about the contract during the year, they have enough to worry about. And that is what SJ just said in his tweets. But that doesn't at all preclude his agent and the Bills from talking. The agent knows what Stevie will accept and wants. If he gets it from the team, and likes it, he calls SJ up and says "The Bills made an offer. I think you should accept it." If he doesn't get what he wants, he doesn't bring it up unless SJ asks.

i disagree, particularly since he mentions that their contract discussions "concluded" at the end of camp. since he's being questioned about the contract (which led to this series of tweets), wouldn't he at least ask his agent if they're still talking?

No. That's precisely the point. He wouldn't. Because if the agent said they are getting stonewalled it would be on his mind, if he said they were close, he could get antsy, especially if he doesn't hear more about it. He doesn't want to hear a word during the year, so he can concentrate 100% on football.

He said the last he heard and the last he wanted to hear was in training camp.

Again, I am not saying they are talking. I am saying that Stevie himself doesn't probably know. If the Bills called his agent and made a counter offer this afternoon, and it wasn't real close to what the agent and SJ wanted, the agent wouldn't mention it to SJ.
