saundena Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I thought it was interesting in week 1 to see where ESPNs new QBR ranked QB's versus the fans' perceived performance and the traditional QBR. I went to look for it this morning following the Monday nighter and I can't seem to find it- Any of you know where it is? I figure that Fitz must be ranked pretty well considering his late game heroics. GO BILLS!
saundena Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 It's complicated, I know. Thanks, Sarcasm appreciated. You must be some kinds of internet thingy search wizard. No surprises really. Hopefully Fitzy tops the chart next week with some 4th QTR heroics, and Brady slides down the charts with a key 4th QTR interception

It takes as much time as actually providing the requested info, the top 1-3 hit is often not what's requested, and it's just so Smartass. Here: ESPN QB rating Has Fitz as #6. Jason Campbell is #2. Methinks the rating system may need some rethinking, just my opinion.

In season stats, Fitzpatrick is #2 behind Brady. Campbell is #9.

His team lost twice. OK, so to my understanding the QBR is supposed to be based upon "expected points and win probability as they relate to field position, down, and distance" based on a "non-subjective computer model". What Fitz and the Bills achieved last week was right off the curve - remarkable - scoring a TD on every possession in the 2nd half? I think I've heard that's never been done, if anything it's a very rare event. It really ought to light their model up like a pinball machine.

His team lost by three points, and not because of his play. The only INT he threw was a hail mary, end of game situation. I'm not saying Fitz had a bad game... in fact, his second half was *amazing* but you also have to account for his first half, which was... not good. Can't you just respect that sometimes another QB has a better game, even if our QB had a good one? Fitzpatrick has been great this season, in fact I agree with the overall stats... he's really only been second to Brady this year in my eyes. But that doesn't mean Fitzpatrick had the best week 2 performance *on paper*. As far as Newton is concerned, didn't he throw three picks in his last game? He's been doing well yardage wise, but he is also turning the ball over at a Favre like pace. Edited September 20, 2011 by Dorkington
