Silvercrw Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 OMG does NFL.com not even know Fitzy's name? http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011091801/2011/REG2/raiders@bills#menu=gameinfo&tab=preview LOL
Captain Hindsight Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 They had to drop their editor apparently
BillnutinHouston Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Looks like bulletin board material to me. Feeds the "chip on the shoulder" mentality.
iommi Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 My guess would be Jamie Dukes or Marshall Faulk serve as ghostwriters when off air.
Boludo Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 It's bull ****. The man has about 50 touchdowns in this league, is a longtime vet, has dozens of starts, etc. I know Buffalo is among the least covered teams in the league, but come on. It's the NFL, by FAR the country's most popular sport. Even casual fans from other cities know his name by know. I don't know how someone could be this bad at their job.

It's an utter disgrace.
CowgirlsFan Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) Every now and then I catch myself calling him Ryan FITZGERALD!! Edited September 15, 2011 by CowgirlsFan
phypon Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 That's nothing. I saw a segment on (I think) ESPN where they were talking about keeping certain backups active and they said it's definitely worth while to keep Fitz as an active backup. The dude didn't know Fitz is the starter! Blew my mind. Absolutely ridiculous! I mean, really, there are only 32 starters in the league, is it really that difficult to know 32 items when it's your job???!!!???
reddogblitz Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I heard Howie Long call him Ryan Fitzgerald last year too.
johnnywo Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Every now and then I catch myself calling him Ryan FITZGERALD!! I like FITZGIBBONS personally!!
Bufcomments Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I called him FitzMagic all Sunday long.
Chandler#81 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Every now and then I catch myself calling him Ryan FITZGERALD!! In fairness, I think Cowgirl is on to something here. Whether it's JFK's middle name (for old salt's like me) or that Fitzpatrick simply isn't very common vs. other Fitz-names, it's undeniably difficult to remember. But I can't say why.. It's likely Ryan has put up with it his whole life.. If it adds motivation to the team, then Fitzgerald it is!

That includes sorting through the myriad of Fitz_____ NFL quarterbacks.
CSBill Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 The wrong name is bad enough, but did you read some of the dribble coming out of Raider-nation in the comment thread . . . I hope those boyz get their yard time back
Glory Bound Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I know Buffalo is among the least covered teams in the league This will change when we're 3 & 0 ! My fave is Fitzwilly
