Big Turk Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Wgr quoting buffalo news reporter rodney mckissock that Easley has a heart condition of unknown seriousness at this time...not believed to be something that will end career but serious enough that it needs to be taken care of before he continues playing...
bladiebla Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Frigging stupid autocorrect on my iPhone...,.
beerme1 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 So much for the chicken wing eating contest B.S. that people were slinging around the board this week. I wish that people wouldn't speculate flippantly about someone else's health. Behold the internets!
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 So much for the chicken wing eating contest B.S. that people were slinging around the board this week. I wish that people wouldn't speculate flippantly about someone else's health. Their fallback position will be that the wings caused heartburn, which is still a "heart" ailment.
Dr. K Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 So much for the chicken wing eating contest B.S. that people were slinging around the board this week. I wish that people wouldn't speculate flippantly about someone else's health. To say nothing of the AIDS and STD speculation.
Kelly the Dog Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Get well, Marcus. See you back on the field for OTAs next year.
BuffaloBill Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 That's too bad, but great news that he found out about it and it didn't go undetected. Absolutely agree...
NoSaint Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Yes. Locked and burned espescially in light of the other one that says he has a heart ailment. It seems that the last 24 hours or so has been generally unmoderated. This is probably not even that high on the list of "I'm surprised it hasn't been shutdown"
Nanker Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 But the whole velociraptor story...that they could disclose, right? Sure, in fact they did. Thank you NGU! :p34r: You mean like I said here? Close... needed full attribution of the Law. First of all.. what kind of STD would keep you out a whole year? None that I can think of.. and since there is no cure for AIDS what good would IR be? Maybe you should mix in some common sense with your thoughts. Elephantiasis of the testicles! Not a STD, but most definitely could be enough to put one on IR. Just like clockwork, had to be in the office and offline most of the day when this stunning turn of events happened. Good luck Marcus. There are millions of people living with heart defects of one sort or another. Hope yours is minor.
starrymessenger Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Somebody said they saw a clip of him speaking to a group of trainers at the preseason game with Detroit and pointing at his chest while on the sidelines. Seems like a really good kid. Just can't catch a break. Prayers are with him.
eschej13 Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Outstanding to see that so many think that this is a joke. The poor guy is probably scared out of his mind right now and we're going to joke about it. The guy had an "illness" and the comedians come out in full force. Good work.
clancynut Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) It could be cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart), the same condition that that Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis died from. Edited September 14, 2011 by clancynut
South Jersey Bills Fan Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Was it a heart condition cause by the STD from the Raptor bite he received during the wing eating contesst at the stripclub/massage parlor? I hate it when that happens
Simon Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 It seems that the last 24 hours or so has been generally unmoderated. This is probably not even that high on the list of "I'm surprised it hasn't been shutdown" For my part, I generally don't do much moderating for a day after a game. Folks need to vent and it's too much to try to pick and choose who's over the top. It's kind of like having a party all weekend and not cleaning up until Monday morning.
kande87 Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I just read that he was placed on IR due to a heart ailment. Hope the kid is ok, some things are bigger than football.
South Jersey Bills Fan Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I'm just glad to hear it wasn't E.S.S.
Assquatch Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I just read that he was placed on IR due to a heart ailment. Hope the kid is ok, some things are bigger than football. Like a basketball.
Marv Levy Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 please don't kill me here guys, but can a team activate a IR player at a future date in this season, or does it mean you are done for the season regardless if he gets better?

Done. Can be released and signed by other teams but can't play for us until 2012
