Quinn Early's Ghost Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) They have us at 27th, at least we have a lot of support from the commenters--which is a first. http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2011/week/2 Edited September 14, 2011 by Quinn Early's Ghost
Captain Hindsight Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Amazing the chiefs have a higher ranking. I knew we shoulda put 50 on them
5 Wide Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 How a team you beat 41-7 at home is still ranked 5 spots higher than you shows how much credence to put into the power rankings.
southernbill Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 John Clayton hates the Bills, so no real surprise there. He voted the Chiefs 15.
Gugny Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I usually enjoy reading the power rankings from different sources. But this has to be the most idiotic, uniformed power rankings list I've ever seen. The Eagles at number 3? Seriously? This is ridiculously flawed ... and not just by having the Bills as 27.
KollegeStudnet Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 27? wow....I expected different from this tiny man and his signature famous receding hairline combover
webtoe Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 It is all good...just increasing the size of the Chip on the player's shoulders! Amazing how 'the world is against us' seems to work so well sometimes. I think Nix has brought in the type of players that have a lot of pride and take that stuff to heart. It also helps when those players have some talent, which based on an admitedly small sample looks to be the case.
Billshank Redemption Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 fox sports were 22 and chiefs are 32
truth on hold Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I hope crypt keeper keeps under rating us all season, the more you fly under the radar the better IMO.
Metal Man Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Ross Tucker put the Bills at 18 in his power rankings on his ESPN podcast today.
Just in Atlanta Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Whatever ESPN. My thought is maybe they don't like jumping teams up too much, and then jumping them back if they crash the following week. Makes em look amateur and bandwagon-ish. My argument would be that the Bills should have been at least 5 spots higher than they currently are before the game started, but oh well, what do you want--the last time this team made the playoffs, most of us were using dial-up Internet.
zow2 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 The best thing about that column are all the comments from Bills fans bashing their place in the rankings. Just goes to show how many Bills supporters there are around the country..that pummel many other teams fan support.
DJasper Probincrux III Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 the last time this team made the playoffs, most of us were using dial-up Internet. What now? You mean you called up the internet? Like ordering pizza? "Hello? Internet? I'd like some porn please. 30 minutes or less and it's free? Sold!" That's just crazy talk. It's like saying we once had to use phones that were attached to the wall by cords and dialed with big wheels. insane.
tennesseeboy Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I can't understand how any team can possibly win against ANY team 41-7 in the first game of the season and not be ranked 25 16 at the lowest. Add the fact that Kansas City was the division champ last year and any ranking below 16 is out of the question. Did they watch the game? Jackson ran well, Chandler was unbelievably good, Johnson was a great receiver, Fitz is number one ranked by most every standard, defense was awesome against what all consider a great running team, special teams played like champs. Okay...okay..maybe you want to wait and see how the next two games go, but that would justify the 15 rank instead of a top 10 rank.
JESSEFEFFER Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) I prefer Jeff Sagarin's rankings. Last year's had the Bills at something like #24, having played the #1 toughest schedule, and ahead of every NFC West team. Intuitively, seems to get things right. Now, early in the season it somewhat distorted by the preseason rank and the results of a few early games, but it will be unbiased by human intervention fairly quickly. Jeff Sagarin Edited September 13, 2011 by JESSEFEFFER
bills1960 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 So the chiefs and vikings are better than us? That's interesting.
CardinalScotts Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Do we now vote on the super bowl champion ? Why read this crap I told you probably atleast 10 times on here Clayton's info is pretty good, but predictions on teams, how players will do etc. is terrible- like stop doing it bad. Right now we are first in the AFC east
San Jose Bills Fan Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 27? wow....I expected different from this tiny man and his signature famous receding hairline combover Not to mention his surreptitious ponytail. fox sports were 22 and chiefs are 32 According to JESSEFEFFER's link, Sagarin has us at #18. ProFootballTalk (Mike Florio) has us the highest… at #13. He's biased though… kind of a closet Bills fan. Whoops. Sorry. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/13/week-one-power-rankings-2/ "The Jets and Pats may have good reason to get a little nervous."
BringBackFlutie Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 fox sports were 22 and chiefs are 32 ...and the Bengals at 21...
