BillsObserver Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Naaman Roosevelt tweeted "#back" just a few minutes ago. And then Mike Caussin, their tight end on the practice squad, said: "Another day. Lets get it! Glad to see my man @nyce18 (Naaman Roosevelt) back in the building." Not sure if this means he'll end up on the practice squad or they're checking his injury out or if he's just visiting but I thought I'd pass this along. We'll find out soon enough..
Dorkington Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Well, we just cut a WR... so it'd make sense to keep him around in some capacity. I'm thinking PS until our first WR injury.
Doc Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Is there room on the PS? If not, Caussin might not be happy to see Namaan too much longer.
PromoTheRobot Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I thought we only had 7 PS players, then remembered we signed a CB yesterday. Someone will have to go. Might be Caussen. PTR
silvermike Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Roosevelt is back on the practice squad. Michael Switzer was cut.
Cotton Fitzsimmons Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 YE OLE doesn't yet have an opinion on Sam "Forever" Young, but he'll take Roosevelt over Switzer and Martin any day!
Doc Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I wonder what that was all about? I assume that Roosevelt was weighing his options with other teams first?
PromoTheRobot Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I wonder what that was all about? I assume that Roosevelt was weighing his options with other teams first? He was still recovering from the ankle injury. PTR
The Senator Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Roosevelt was signed to the Bills practice squad this morning (Wed.). The main reason why was when the Bills claimed OL Sam Young off waivers, thereby adding him to their 53-man roster, they released WR Ruvell Martin. That left the team with only five receivers on the active roster. Doc Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 He was still recovering from the ankle injury. It's my understanding that you can't waive someone who is injured, so to me, that still doesn't answer it. And if they were planning on adding him (it's been just a few days), why sign Switzer to the PS at all?

And if they were planning on adding him (it's been just a few days), why sign Switzer to the PS at all? Maybe they wanted to give him a chance to catch on with another team?

And if they were planning on adding him (it's been just a few days), why sign Switzer to the PS at all? Obviously they were hoping for certain players to shake loose in cuts to pick up. But that doesn't explain why they kept Martin over Roosevelt unless his ankle got better fast. PTR
BuffaninATL Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I wonder what that was all about? I assume that Roosevelt was weighing his options with other teams first? It wasn't really about anything - Roosevelt was waived and put back on the PS once it was probably deemed fit (ankle injury)
Arkady Renko Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 It is far simpler than that. Martin was released and ineligible for the PS. They needed another WR with whom to practice with now that Martin was gone.
Buftex Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Call me crazy, but I thought Naaman Roosevelt looked as good as anyone (except Johnson) on our WR squad, during pre-season. Glad to have him back.
