In other news, we have always been at war with East Asia. Eurasia has always been our ally

It's easy to see how someone who's never had a real job thinks that the economy is improving. The stimulus didn't do squat to the economy, especially when it was passed after the financial crisis bottomed out.

The bubble people living in Washington and New York are so completely and utterly out of touch it's truly amazing. If "the stimulus worked" is going to be their message going forward then let the left go ahead and sink themselves.

The rest of this country is going through horrific economic times right now. You can see it in the polls. Americans are very angry at where this country is and where it's currently heading. Another "sugar high" stimulus is not what's needed, repealing obamacare is.

What the left and the MSM won't dare admit is that obamacare is the dagger in this non-recovery. What they still don't know is how angry and bad off Americans are right now. That bubblehead's idiot boss has 0 shot at getting reelected. He's Jimmy Carter on steroids.

Until it is shown that the Republicans will nominate a viable candidate, the Prez has a realistic shot of getting re-elected. If they nominate Bachmann or another candidate w/ 0 executive experience, a re-election becomes very possible.

If Christie were to run w/ Rubio as his running mate, Mr. Obama could be looking at a Mondale-like showing.

In their defense, the bubble they're in is empirically and tangibly real. The DC area economy is doing pretty well compared to most of the nation.

"Defense"? I meant "explanation". It really isn't much of a defense.

See what the Grimreaper has to say about those nasty Republicans who are preventing the Democrats from creating jobs and getting the economy rolling.

Pass the biggest job killing bill ever, then lie your ass off. Because not only will the MSM not blame you, they'll help promote your gigantic lies.

BTW, the biggest lie ever foisted on America by the MSM was that Bush was to blame for the economic downfall. That's like blaming an alcoholic's downfall on their spouse. I was never a fan of Bush, but his problem was he acted like a concerned spectator instead of president. Too weak of a leader to stop the subprime mortgage bundling money train between the dem cronies and wallstreet. Bush played his part, but after the wars he was in no position and had no cache left to touch the subprime mortgage issues. It annoys me how successful the MSM was in pinning the whole economic downfall on Bush.

It's the only thriving economy left in this country. The feeling of their being disconnected is beyond palpable at this point.

I see the left is in full panic mode today. Shultz talking about how they single-handedly saved the holy liberal trifecta (teachers, firefighters and police officers) and Reid saying that the right has kept the Democrats from saving the holy liberal trifecta because they're holding hostage a jobs plan that doesn't even exist.

This embarrassing partisan diatribe by Reid, of course, is followed by a request from Reid for people to put aside their embarrassing partisan diatribes and "work together."

It's no wonder the left is losing independents in droves.

It depends on what the definition of "worked" IS...

If it means the extra half trillion (or so) by the federal govt helped offset cuts by local and state govts and prevented a worse outcome, then yes. If it means that corporate profits were higher because of it, then yes again. If it means that it turned the economy around and lowered unemployment, then nope.

How about "kept unemployment from going above 8%," which is what I believe it was billed as...?

You may have modify that. Norfolk Dave is now including youth hockey and football teachers to the untouchable list. The veneer of a enlightened civilization is too thin to remove even one public employee.

That's what happens when you put people in charge who learned equilibrium models only, and who have no idea what to do when hit with a debt-deflation crisis. While Paulson, Bernanke and Geithner focused on resolving the problems from over-leveraged finance, they did very little (if anything) to resolve the problems from over-leveraged households.

Let me guess- you're 'Stimulus wasn't big enough guy'?
