Other than these three guys, who are game changers (for better or worse), I believe the Bills have not improved relative to the rest of the league (who get better as well, mind you). If they are healthy all year and play well, this could be a 6-7-8 win team. Play poorly or get hurt, you get a repeat of last year. We win either way, as 2-3 wins gets me the best QB prospect to come out since Peyton Manning. Thoughts?

You might want to include Fitz in his first full season as a starter. Also, we could get lucky with Batten, Carrington and some others.

All on Fitz. Our defense has some nice weapons but unless Fitz can keep control of the offense it's all for not. I think the O-line will be less of a factor then people think in pass blocking. The Bills want to get the ball out quick on slants, crossing routes, & screens.(no need for Evans) It's a qb driven league and the Bills will only go as far as Fitzpatrick can take them.

I wouldn't completely discount having a healthy Shawn Merriman and adding players like rookie swing tackle Chris Hairston, newly acquired LBs Nick Barnett and Kirk Morrison, TE Scott Chandler, and a few others when you say you believe the Bills 'have not improved relative to the rest of the league'.

I'll never understand the 'winning-by-losing' mentality of some on this board. NEVER.

The Bills can have a winning record and still be in position to draft the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning, so long as someone else takes Landry Jones and Andrew Luck - and leaves Matt Barkley there for the Bills in the later part of round one.

GO BILLSSS!!!!

19 and 0 baby!!!!! B-)

Injuries are a consistent factor in the NFL. Few teams are able to avoid the depleting effects of a sport that is predicated on bodies crashing into bodies. From a starting standpoint the Bills are a thinly staffed team. From a reserve standpoit the Bills are woefully lacking. Where we are extremely thin is on the OL. That is the why the salary dumping of Hangartner was especially disspiriting.

When it gets to the point that prior to the season a large segment of the fans are basing their hopes on being in the running for the first pick of an exceptional prospect in Luck then that in itself is a sad commentary. What happens if the Bills have the first pick and Luck decides to stay in school another year because he doesn't want to play for a wretched owner and hollow organization?

One would think that after being bad for almost a generation there would be some sense of urgency to get better, especially from an owner who is in his 90s and is rapidly declining. If there is an urgency it is to get his stalwart employee, Littman, to squeeze the piggy as hard as he can before the curtain is closed forever. The state of affairs of this organization is a disgrace and an embarrassment. There is not an ounce of respect for the very loyal fans who have enriched the owner beyond his own imagination. It's obvious that shameless people can't be shame.

I'm with you. Sometimes you have to exhibit some pride and not graciously accept long term mediocrity. It's embarrassing.

The notion that only one player in the draft can meaningfuly impact your team is foolish. As you noted Barkley is an the type of player I would love to have. If there isn't a qb worthy of where I'm picking then pick the best OT or best remaining player. In the past draft the Bills were going to select qb Newton with their first pick if he was available. He wasn't there. So they took the best DT in the draft in Dareus. That is the right approach to take. Striving to get better should be your goal, not striving to manufacture excuses why you continue to fail.
